Put mine on the 1.2 greg, like trust1, P1010024.JPG P1010026.JPG no tweaking. The LOF is out on account of the user setting not working on this receiver.

Hi,

I ordered one of these LNBs too and have just tested it on a 1.2m laminas. Weather is overcast.

16E scanned with EBSPro using 1 MHz steps. EBSPro has missed some I think. I'm quite impressed with it so far.

Cheers again Chris ..
My lnb arrived about 10 minutes ago ..
No time to try it as I have to go open my shop very soon ..
First impressions are that it is well made ...but am a bit surprised by it's bulk at the back end..
Not that I should be I suppose having had various SL3s on Carl in the past ...but it will occupy roughly 2 lnb spaces...about 5 degrees of space needed on the offset bar..
Thus ..some lnb juggling required to accomodate & test it I think ..but of course I will eventually lose the current Ku ..once it is integrated at the head end ..so one lnb replacing 2 if all goes according to plan.

Well I've tried various methods trying to switch to the Ku ouitput, to no avail.

I understand that you need to switch the DiSEqC ports A and B to change from Ka to Ku, but I only have Ka output, not Ku when I try.

I have a 4-Port DiSEqC switch, and I'm using Ports A and B, A connected to the Ka output, and B to the KaKu output. Only the Ka output seems to be available whenever I switch over to port B :confused

Have I misunderstood something?

..
I assumed the Ku output would be the default position of the combination output Llew ..
Maybe I'm wrong on this ..
Thus leaving the Ka single output available for another cable ...in my case the cable currently connected to the XMW ...
I'm hoping this is the case ...that way I dont have to switch at all at the lnb ...
IE ...I'm assuming the internal switch is only needed on a dish which has but one cable run ..
I guess we all have to learn the quirks of this new lump..
I'll be trying it tonight..

Yes, I have to admit being confused. I only have one cable to this dish, and I thought I could just use the KaKu output of the LNB, and switch the Bands by sending up a DiSEqC command.
At present, I'm just hanging the DiSEqC switch off the end of the dish arm for testing. I hoped that I wouldn't need the switch.

Good luck with yours ;)

If I am correct in my assumption Llew ...Ku should be possible simply by hooking your one cable to the combination output without a switch ....and simply using a mechanical A/B switch at the lnb on one cable would allow selection of Ka /Ku ..
Inconvenient I know If you have only one cable ...but with 2 cables this is a bonus insofaras the switching could be done indoors with a diseqc 1.1 switch ..
Have you tried just connecting to the combined port ..and does this give you Ku ..?
I'm hoping it does..
Multiple cable runs is then the way to go imo..

Tried that first Evan, and only get Ka coming down straight to my TBS6983 and Crazyscan.
I suppose I could try another receiver, but first I'll see what the Promax makes of it.

You would think that either on the box ...the lnb body ..or an information sheet supplied with it (there isn't one)...combined port use would be explained ..
ie A = Ku ...B = Ka ..
Dont have mine in front of me atm ..
Does it say this _anywhere_ ..?
If A does = Ku ..then the port _should_ default to Ku ....and only switch to Ka when the B command is sent..
???

Nothing useful on the box or LNB.
Box says "Ka/Ku Co-Locate Linear 23mm LNB with one KaKu switchable output and one Ka output".

Not a word on how the switching is achieved. All I've learned is what our members have posted on this forum.

Glad you got it ok. I am using it in prime as ku/ka now all we need is a cheap band c lnb :D

I am running mine with a DiSEqC 1.0 on to a DiSEqC 1.1 switch. 1 cable to ku output and 1 to the ka output. And so far it's all working.

Hi, my Openbox SX6 receiver controls a DiSEqC 1.1 switch and it works well (Ku: "Tone A", Ka: "Tone B"). The TBS-6983 card did not control the internal switch properly (unknown reason) but works well with the Ka output.

So ...it is not actually diseqc 1.0 control ...but more of a simple 22khz tone switch I assume ..
Tone on ..Tone off ..
but which is which Ku tone on ...or Ka tone on ?

Problem is ...the 22khz tone is part of standard Ku universal control ...so I just dont get it being used in simple A/B tone control as this would be confusing to reception and band selection..
Further investigation need imo..

It makes sense therefore it has to be diseqc 1.0 or higher..

Thanks for that Eric123, and welcome to the forum.
That may well be the reason, as I'm also using a TBS6983.
