Newsnet on Ka Band A

Tried the Newsnet Ladies around 8:30AM and still low around 6db ..
Just tried it again around noon ..and the signal level had risen quite dramatically ..
Currently around 11db ...which is high for my QTH.

About 13dB here. 12.556V now switched from Newsnet ITN Newsroom to my horse in the Gold Cup.

Yes these two frequencies are occasional lease ones which are used when the rented ones are all booked, rented ones are from18.500 Mhz to 18.550Mhz.
They cannot go much further max I think is 18.650mHz, as this is a zoned satellite intended
for data use so is zoned to many parts of Europe, so where SIS news for ITV is most of the UK
zone.
The satellite at Ka band may be beam steerable so maybe it could be configured, for a nother section for UK zone, Not sure as we have not all the operating details of this type of bird.

@Chris1979 re: 18GHz activity down south ....
Have you had a look at anything today Chris on 18GHz and experiencing the weird rapid fluctuating of the signals, Newsnet and the stuff that pops up lower down ?.
Today especially, up here in North Notts the band has seen signals ramping quickly up and down from 0dB dropout to only around 7dB or so on a 1.25 Gibby. Not seen this weird activity this bad on this bird before. Just Curious.

But on the tm5302 I have stable signal but a very very high ber.
