Not at this time- unless that particular ad is on a different page then the item is not available. Same applies with the Inverto Ka/Ku that they once sold. All gone . Look for the traffic light style stock level indicator in the ad, they are showing Red-ie: no stock. :(

For watching 18GHz Newsnet and other regional feeds you need the 9000AF model. Then you need a suitable dish & feed for it for either a PF or Offset antenna. Also - - the dreaded shipping & import duties etc to add if you are purchasing from the States.

Not sure what your 1mtr dish actually is - PF or Offset ?. There is only one easily available Ka feed that i know of and that is the XMW FD9000L. It's supposed to be designed for PF reflectors but myself and others have used it on Offsets and gives decent performance. Myself and others have re-used commercial scalar feeds taken from internet broadband equipment and re-engineered the feed flange to fit the WR42 flange on the lnb. This is why i keep saying that the band D Inverto Ka/Ku lnbf is/was such good value as all the hard work has been done for you and once you venture off that unit to receive other Ka frequency bands such as Band A 18GHz Newsnet feeds etc, you enter a completely different and more difficult world.

Seems to me all the same LNB, same no...DRO R9000, XMW FD9000L and the Norsat varient 9000AF-2 so the 179 euro price was a true bargain....

The Norsat, XMW and MMCLuster PLL LNBs all appear to be similar so there may be one OEM for many DROs as well. I started off with a Gilat band B which is about 3dB down by 18.5GHz and needs an IF tuner that goes down to 250MHz (TBS6983). That could not always lock the main ITN feed on 18557. Thanks to 2 members who gave me their water damaged XMW & MMCL PLLs, I created one good LNB out of the 2. There's a cautionary note - the XMW etc PLLs need a rain cover!

With the Frankenstein LNB on a 1.2m offset dish most feeds will lock most of the time. The levels vary quite a lot and some are down to 7dB SNR at times. Here's the electronics block for Ka A which has a servo for polarisation control. I think that the feed was made by Patriot. I'm not sure if it is perfectly matched to the 0.8f/d dish but it works fine.

OT side note: Those newer servo motors we had not long ago seem to be a lot better than the others we had Graham. The older ones worked ok using the pololu pc polarity controller but could quite easily go into jitter mode when using the USA sourced polarity controller from Rick's. Iv'e gone back onto the Rick's one now using the new batch of servo as it's a lot easier to operate.

John,

Would you please be able to provide a link to a supplier for the newer servo motors? I think mine is the older model and it always seems to have the stop/start jumping type rotation using the polarity controller we got as a group buy from Rick.

Thx

Will do Dave, bare with me.
Chris (scopus) has had similar issues and put it down to some water ingress i think it was and is now using his with a rain cover and some of that black sealing gel that @RustySpoons alerted us to. I now coat the whole exterior of mine with at least two coats of sealing varnish.

Yes, that's the one and the same chap I got mine from. I found that the others would not re-set after the kit had been switched off and on. A pain if the dish is a long way form the controller. I use the Polulu controller as it allows multiple settings of range and speed. A big advantage of the upside-down dish is that I can put a bucket over the whole feed to keep the water off. (OK, so it's not elegant!)

Yes, quite correct John. All my juddering issues have now been fixed after the first servo motor failed due to water ingress. The replacement is now sealed with that liquid plastic sealent that the Spoon recommended.

Yes, a 1 metre dish is a bit on the small side for the ITN stuff..
