My bad...I got CNN int which is on 12073h and which gives me "same tp is already existing".

What is your feeling about that? Will we finally be able to get them all in NL+UK?

I rather suspect reception will be far worse in north western Europe.

Is 201 actually 'on station' yet? Lyngsat says it's t'other side of 8°W. Can't see them having live TP's right now, can they?

Note atm it says its at 6.1W BUT the tracking always takes a few days to catch up when a satellite manoeuvres

When it launched on August 4th the commentary said the handover to Nilesat would be in 35 days.

If the reason is football, classic music or opera, the issue remains: we still have too many SD channels and most of them with poor quality (e.g. the one's on Hotbird). On the other end, we do have HD TV's and receivers.

They are surely good to their word.

Nilesat 201 is finally in its orbital position @ 6.96 W



Just a bit of satellite maneuvers on LONGITUDE position.

Nilesat 101, 102 are also changing orbital position with nilesat 101 gearing up to say bye bye to the Nilesat family.

Thats easily explained. The tracking sites work very well on satellites that move in regular orbits that can be predicted days or weeks in advance. However broadcast satellites can fall outside this cotaegory - specifivcally when they are being moved from one place to another.

When ground control takes over and starts firing the thrusters all predictions become null and void until the tle's (orbital elements) are updated.
