6.4 is latest and 6.5 is beta

Most images have the option to flash on line with blue button or software manger and you can add downloaded images also. select image select slot, rr stanby and restart and select recovery mode, then use network multi image upgrade. select image and slot and star upgrade. (no wifi)

If you have a sd card then you can get loads os slots to Extra Multiboot slots for sf8008 and sf8008m [HowTo]

any old image i think will change you firmware also be carefull

@ Channel Hopper and Ja5on, thanks for your replies Guys.
OK here is the story, I am using the SF8008 and want to set-up a new one for my brother.
So at present NO image or Multiboot is on the Box. Its empty. The reason I want the older versions is because
I want to use openATV 6.3 BUT with my favourite Skin. The newer openATV 6.4 versions break the Skin structure
and cause crashes, its obviously NOT compatible with newer versions.
ON the openATV 6.3 July and Aug 2020 versions it WAS compatible and running perfectly. BUT i cant remember which one.
I have, since my own Flashing, had a Microsoft update, which killed my PC and I have lost a lot of Data including these
open ATV Versions.
So I want to check why it is NOT working on later versions.
If you want to have it to see, just ask and I can Post the Skin.

My info was for everyone and multi slots gives you a choice to try other images and keep your own, You get a few multislots anyway without sd card lol

Skin stop working because they dont get updated. So many images and skins plugins etc im sure there is something you like plus they all can be editted to suit you needs.

And for nightly updates you wont get any updates on old 6.3 and if you decide to update to newer image you will have to start over.
What skin is it??

Ja50n, I contacted the Skinner and he has told me he Modified the Skin about 7 months ago and it should work for "ALL" OPEN images.
The 6.3 on my own SF8008 has been updated several times in the last few months and see Screenshot nr.10
The other Screenshots are of my Skin. This is working super, no problems .

Well without a crashlog there isnt much anyone can do, unless you report it to RAED and see if he can fix it, Tbh there is so many skins out there
Maybe try Full HD Glass 17 skin,

Or you can mod any screen to your liking too, just a matter of trying

There is NO Crash Log available because the Skin loads via Dcc.E2 >FTP >TMP and IPK Installer but when I try to
activate it in Usage/GUI afterwards it is there, BUT it will NOT install and the Skins DO NOT change.!

Perhaps I have misunderstood . If you programme the receiver with the multiboot function and use the working openATV 6.3 with yourpreferred skin, you can experiment with other images in any of the three remaining slots (1 have only tried three in total, OenATV 6.4 /Define / SatDreamGR )

Yes that correct but there was new multiboot and recovery system so any image before April 17th, 2020 or a backup image cant be used without adjustment. I think some people try to install newer images on old recovery system and have trouble, i guess it down to when you purchased the box.

Tbh there is some very good images and skins out there and if you dont try them how would you know

My SF8008 is from July 2020, so after the new Multiboot/Recovery system was introduced.
So thats all good.!
You are right thre are many images and Skins out there and some really good ones.
I have also Tested HDFreaks, OpenVix, PUrE2, OpenPLi and as you can see still have
openATV and openPli on my Multiboot, So I do Test.!

I have tried many on my DM MIPS Boxes and have now moved on to ARM 4K Boxes.

I have finally found and made it into what I think is a very stable Image and Skin.
Thats why I would like to keep the Image and Skin. Thats ALL.

If you cannot help with the image I asked for, can you please explain how to best
make a FULL BackUp onto a USB stick and then Flash this into my Brothers new Box.?

I have made several BackUp and they are ALL stored as images, on my HDD it is in fact
only the 256 GB MicroSDCard, BUT it has been mounted as HDD, see attached Pic.

So thats all good.!
You are right thre are many images and Skins out there and some really good ones.

They are different sizes because of the plugins etc you have installed.

From my understanding you can use the back up your current image and you could write that to a slot, but last time i checked it made a recovery image.
Try it yourself press blue and select complete backup and check it, then use that to flash your box but i think it will be old firmware.

And if the box has been updated too, would I be correct in saying that if I buy the receiver with the new remote (the one with TV controls) that I am getting the most recent box?

I have two. One has a much nicer remote than the other. One is very clicky and plasticky. The other has rubber buttons and quieter. Who knows why and when it changed. Ask the intended supplier which remote you'd be getting
