You were sent two drivers to test and never responded.

That was the best time to get your problem fixed!

The correct path is: /lib/modules/4.4.35/extra
Try copying the entire extra folder from OpenSpa image to the image of your choice. Reboot.

After replace this folder "extra", stuck on boot (both images: OpenPli 9 and OpenATV 7.3). Restoring my backups...

Thx.

No such thing as ATSC drivers in this part of the receiver files.

I think OpenSpa has two executables in the extra folder. You usually lose execute privilege when you transfer a file to the receiver from a home computer. Setting the proper files to execute will allow the receiver to boot unless another error was made.

The SF8008 allows all image slots to be mounted, provided you have a proper storage device connected to the receiver. Briefly, the OpenSpa image was mounted in slot 1, then all the files in the extra folder were transferred to the image in slot 4. Receiver was rebooted in slot 4 and everything worked correctly. Some of the dates and file sizes in the extra folder are different.

Whether or not this fixes your problem remains to be seen, but transferring the OpenSpa extra folder to another receiver does work. It would probably be best to start a thread about this if you want to continue a conversation about it.

Hi Guys,

Using Define OS I wish to;
  • Update the picons, this image seems to need the picons in a folder for each satellite, is there a safe place to download the picons like this?
  • Change the root password, can this be done through DCC?
Thanks

Regarding adding picons to Define, I have had partial success with using a software called "E2 picon manager" by mmark.
This divides up the picons into folders matching up a lot of the filenames and adding them to the appropriate folders but it also misses quite a few. I don't have the knowledge to get the remainder matched up and or working.

I haven't been able to tune in the 5W multistream channels using Define OS, has anyone else achieved this? 30W is ok with a blind scan but not 5W? Manual transponder entry brings up no signal but there is great signal in ATV.

The Define OS seems to be an old enigma2 type image. The Define OS may not have multistream channel capability.

As a test, Load a decent enigma2 image on another slot and see if the multistream channels work.

30 West MIS work in Define OS so why not 5 West?

30 West MIS appear in Open ATV but as numbers not channel names. 5 West MIS channels scan and work.

only 2 frequencies at 30W use PLS but without MIS, at 5W PLS with MIS is used

I've just pulled out the SF8008 from the cupbooard since the Combo has lost its display in the past week.

THere appears to be no new upgrades from the last time I used it (Open8Eight 6.8 26/05/24 ) so is there a more advanced one from the German team or should I be looking at installing another image completely ?

Thanks in advance.

OpenEight Image team has not really done anything for months (see Github link).

Octagon support site has been closed. Probably best to find another image if you really need to install one.

I suppose that is for all Octagon models and not just the 8008. (which appears to have disappeared from the download list on their Eu site)

Not being sure if there is any advantage with another image I will leave it for now, looking at a fix for the GT Combo initially.

Hi Guys,

I have been trying to replace the satellites.xml file in Define OS but the box keeps erasing over what I transfer.

I have tried every combination I can think of. These seem to be the directories.

/tmp/userdataroot/userdata2/gx/local/enigma_db_bak/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/userdata2/gx/local/enigma_db/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs4/tmp/userdataroot/userdata2/gx/local/enigma_db_bak/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs4/tmp/userdataroot/userdata2/gx/local/enigma_db/satellites.xml
/home/data/gx/local/enigma_db/satellites.xml
/home/data/gx/local/enigma_db_bak/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs4/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs4/etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs4/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs3/etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs4/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs1/etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml

/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs3/etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml
/tmp/userdataroot/linuxrootfs1/etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml

What can I be doing wrong?

In fact, transponders and programs are stored in the live_prog file and then transformed into lamedb in a slightly modified format
Code:

    s 12073000:30000000:0:3:48:0:0:1:2:0:0:1:0
/
Code:

NOVY CHANNEL HD
p:SLM,c:001983,c:011984,c:031983,c:050001

Code:
<transponder frequency="12732000" symbol_rate="29950000" polarization="1" fec_inner="3" system="1" modulation="2" mts="0" plsN="0"/>

@EnoSat thank you. Where or how would I modify the transponders please?

Best manually in Menu (changes are written to live_prog and then transferred to satellites.xml)

Can it be explained how I can scan the following transponders at 30 West using the on screen menu within DefineOS?

11330 H (I can see this in OpenATV with good signal)
11422 H (I can see this in OpenATV with good signal)
11492 V (I can't receive in OpenATV either, don't know if the transponder is still active, transponder exists on flysat)

SF8008
DiSEqC motor with 1m dish in the East Midlands.

Transponders viewable in Open ATV but I can't scan with DefineOS;
11330 H 13dB now.
11422 H 11dB now, has been as high as 14.5dB
It's not a signal issue as I have reception all the time, I wanted to amend the satellites.xml so these would scan but with DefineOS it seems impossible.

I haven't been able to lock, perhaps image doesn't like the 16APSK or the transponder is no longer broadcasting the channels.
