OK, so I finally found out what may be the issue with the bad SR my SX88 blind scan. It seems it finds the correct SR - I can see it reported correctly while it briefly shows during the ongoing blind scan, but when the scan is finished I see that the wrong SR has been stored in the channel list. Right now on Eutelsat 7E: FTA field hockey at 11152V.... correct SR 9700 flashes on screen in the blind scan.... 9875 stored in the channel database. That's reproducible here: delete channel, new blindscan -> same result.

I've seen this several times, but I cannot see a pattern (I will further investigate). The list of swapped SRs I've logged thus far are:
(bad, good)
(4936, 4800)
(9875, 10000)
(9875, 9700)
(7200, 7120)
(7120, 7200)
(7000, 7200)
(7200, 7250)
(7250, 7350)
(9700, 9600)
(14400, 14240)
There may be more. Strange that no-one else has reported this, maybe it's because I rely wholly on this box for blind scan whereas others have alternative first choice options there (TBS, technomate etc)? Or is my box faulty?
Do you delete all the existing transponders out of the satellite you are intending to scan before you start the blind scan?

No, i rarely delete TPs (only when I get to 400). My blind scan routine is:

0. Blind scan satellite.
1. Delete all feeds from channel list (by hand in Channels Editor).
2. Blind scan satellite (feeds now appear at the end of the channel list, grouped together)
3. Goto 1

I would delete all the transponders, not the channels out first. It may pick up the new SR on a transponder on blind scan, but as it already has that transponder in the database with an existing old SR, that could be the problem, it might be ignoring the new SR found.

I'll try that, but all the same, consider this to be a bug.

Hi! I have the same "problem", on 39 E it blindscaned 12,721 V with SR 1600 stored in TP List, but on Lyngsat is 1480. Im not sure what value is the right... But if 1480 is correct, than it is lowest SR it can be blindscanned, but stored as 1600.

Greetings from Czech rep.

@dishdx During blind scan, what value SR do you see momentarily listed as the found TP on screen? (you have to be quick to see it, or the next found TP will be displayed)

A compromise would be to just delete transponders with no signal by selecting them and press delete with the last transponder to delete selected. You end up with feed transponders at the end of the list which keeps them together.

I have to check it evening, because this TP is feed but with stabil program, but only active evenings as i noticed.

There is another interesting thing, that i now discovered:

In TP list of 39E i have 12721V 1600, i wanted now to add new TP with parameters 12721 V 1480, but box shows message "TP already exists"! When i add SR 1400 it still shows the message. BUT When i add 1399, new TP it is added. When i add SR 1800 it shows "TP already exists", when i add SR 1801 TP is added. So it doesn´seen diference between 1400 and 1800 and tolerance of SR is +-200!

It is below the minimum.
The minimum SR value is> 1500, no problems 1600, but lower will not see it.
Look if the TP with the SR 1480 can find it, if you leave the TP a good time, usually give a signal and hopefully lets it search.
-----------------

PS: Feed OK....39E....Lyngsay 12721V1480 Tonight to fish.:)

Ok, I found another instance: 7E 12658H 7200, should be 7120 (and was 7120 in the blind scan screen). I deleted the channel, and also the corresponding TP with SR7200. Hurrah, channel now found & stored as 12657H 7120.

So it looks like the bug is located where the receiver looks to see if there exists a similar transponder, and considers the 12658H 7200 a good enough match for our SR7120...

Thanks @scopus for the suggestion, hopefully this will now get fixed.

Further confirmation, and restating what @dishdx found: now that I have this 12657H 7120 TP stored, I cannot manually create a 12658H 7200 -> message "TP existed".

Is there a reason why software developers don't like showing the signal level in dB in the menus or on screen display, is this an option that can be turned on with the SX88?

It would be a popular option. On most Linux receivers you can do this. Unfortunately not available yet on this receiver.

This is one of the best Linux receivers I have worked on it is very easy to modify the Satellite data base + remove old transponders & add new transponders that the Blind Scan misses,

I have not been tempted to jump on it or throw it across the room in frustration like some previous Linux boxes,

For new transponders & feeds eventually they all end up at the end of the list is it possible for these to be in sequence ?
A bit more transponder data such as DVB-S / DVB-S2 would be nice,

If it was 4:2:2 capable it would be an almost perfect receiver for my use.
