Hey octagon why so many different versions? For reference can you please fill in the blanks and make any corrections thanks.

SX88 =original version

SX88+ Plus =sx88 with added dolby digital plus

SX88+ SE & SE WL - se= sx88+ +???, se wl= sx88+ se with wifi

SX888 IP & IP WL - sx888 ip= streaming/iptv only? sx888 ip wl= sx888 with wifi

ASAT HDR No.1 =???

SX88+ Optima =sx88+ +???

Looking forward to the 4k version, when is it due out? Also are there any versions with usb3? Fast forward & rewind of hd channels is too clunky with usb2 on all receivers. Ci+ would be nice too

A question about signicant differences between my SX88 and the SX88+ receivers in respect of the firmware update procedures as follows:

- both receivers are connected to my router by Cat 5E cables (i.e. I do NOT use WiFi connections), and both can load up and run files from the various streaming sites shown in the menus

- with the SX88+, when Octagon releases a new firmware update, the receiver automatically displays a message to inform me of that as soon as I switch it on and it has booted up. I can then tell it to download and install the update - and that works correctly.

- OTOH, with the earlier SX88, when I switch it on there is no message displayed about available firmware updates and so I only find about those from what you post in this thread. I then have to manually download the update from the Mediafire website link and load it via the USB flashdrive method because if I try to download it directly using the receiver menus , it displays a message that appears to say that it does not know from where any updates can be downloaded and just shows a list of " *** " instead of the URL of the download site files in question!

Therefore please can someone explain why there is this difference, and specifically why the SX88 cannot find the firmware update download site?

I have bought 3 new SX88 + WL receivers to supplement 2 purchased last year. On the new ones, only the option to import or export DVB channel list is visible - on the other 2 receivers I am able to import and export the BISS settings and other options. I have updated the firmware but it is has not solved the problem. I want to copy the BISS keys and other settings from my existing receiver to my 3 new ones but there only option is to import or export the Channel list in the Backup section. Can anyone help please?

No help available here with Biss decode you will have to look elsewhere for this.

Actually I am NOT looking for ANY BISS codes. The problem I have is the new receivers (SX88 + WL) are not showing the same import/export options as the 2 receivers (same model) I purchased last year. The only option to import/export in Backup is the DV B channel list in the receivers I purchased this week. Does anyone have this problem also? I have updated the firmware

Back onto the subject of the standard SX88+ I have updated my receiver and the sound is out of sync to the picture for example on BBC News HD 28e Astra 2. And the sound volume is more quieter on HD channels.
