I love our winters.

Relatively mild, yet sufficient to give us a break from the relentless noise of mowers, strimmers, chain saws, screeching children and the like, and nice and dark at night, aiding sound sleep.

And then there are scenes like this

Was in Oslo tues+weds. Below freezing all day (down to -8 at night, I think).
Copenhagen is +1 to +5. World of a difference - I hate windscreen scraping...
Shame (for me) - Norway, and Oslo, is just so very very nice. (Albeit expensive!)

It's the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch this weekend and, as usual, we seem to have far fewer birds in the garden than on most weekdays. Also, our bird feeding activities have had to be tempered for the time being as they are also attracting the attention of a rat.
