Hi people, my first post here in your forum & i hope not the last!!!!
Let me give you a little idea of what i am trying to do here & what equipment i have......Am trying to use Astra 19,2 & Astra 28,5 from one dish(85cm) here in Germany. Have bought a multifeed holder with the ca.9cm difference needed to get both signals once the LNBs are fixed, have a 5 in 2 out DISEqC 2.0 switch & a Katrein UFS 732 reciever. Plan to buy a Kathrein UFS 910 this weekend so that i can eventually enjoy HDTV.
Now to my problem......my intension was to run a quattro koax cable (ca. 15m) to my bedroom window, into the switch which will be located next to the window frame & then take 2 single koax cables into the appartment. One will run about 3m to the Kathrein 732 in the bedroom & the other cable will run about a further 10m to the livingroom when i hope to enjoy HDTV using my new reciever. Up to that planning point i was sure what i was doing even if i had a few suprises in store for myself, until i was in my local sat shop this morning & one nice German sales man told me my plan was very much possible & then the next one told me it wasnt possible, he said the quattro cable wouldnt carry the signal well enough.
Can someone give me some advice in my own language & maybe tell me what i am planning, right or wrong.........the dish is on the roof of a six story house & as a chef whose feet are normally on the ground permanently i would like to only have to go out on the thing only once as you may understand.
Ok thanks in advance, as i say after my research i think the only problem is deciding if i run 4 single cables down the back of my landlords house or if i run one single one with the 4 inside;).........am sure from my landlords point of view you will be able to guess what he wants!!!;)
