I may have found the problem with the aac960 channels and a workaround!

The problem is Gstreamer, the one installed in satdreamgr even if older can play AAC960 using correct libavcodec, the one installed in OpenATV, even if newer, can't.
I tried upgrading OpenATV gstreamer including missing libraries but without success.

So i installed "ServiceApp" which is a service allowing to select the player to use (in OpenATV normally we have 2 player installed: Gstreamer (Default) and exteplayer3).
If you look in your bouquet file, you'll notice that all the iptv services begins with 4097 which means "Default Player" so Gstreamer
If i use 5002 instead of 4097 enigma2 will use exteplayer3 as player and guess what..... exteplayer3 can play AAC960!

So, for the moment, if you want to listen to AAC960 in openATV you must:

1) Install serviceapp

opkg install enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp

2) Manually edit your dab bouquet file changing 4097 with 5002 ( or edit using dreamset choosing Stream Type=non-TS (exteplayer3) )
I.e. this is my line for Virgin Anthems in the SDL dab Service on 9E:
Code:

That's all for now

Is there a plug-in for blindscan on the Octagon sf8008. I do have Blindscan written in Menu but when I
click on it it doesn't open as it should I am running an OpenATV 6.4 Image.

Its Ok....I had the LOF in 'Reception setting Tuner A' set to ''User Defined'' instead of ''Universal LNB''
So Blindscan was disabled.

For anyone wanting to have a go on an arm box, here is a zip file.

Now built with libfec support.

Absolutely no guarantees or support, licenses are as specified for eti-tools and ka9q-fec.

The libfec.so file will need to be in the library path, e.g. /usr/lib/ - this is very bad practice. /usr/local/lib or /opt/lib would be better but probably need system configuration changes!
Please could you make some new changes to support python 3? thank you.

Sorry not my bag, as originally stated "Absolutely no guarantees or support".

In the spirit of open source why not have a go yourself?

Hello guys

I am able to receive the following tps @ 30w

12518 V 704
12518 H 1125
12519 H 718
12530 V 1041
12519 V 1481

I have been able to get the radio channels working both in SDG and oATV 6.4 on Zero 4k
there have been lamedb, radio bouquets online for use

For the first time, am trying to get to understand how the lamedb was created as well as the radio bouquet

my first question is this, am unable to scan all tps with the exception of 12519 V 1481

so how am I able to create the right details for lamedb

Am able to get signal on my DVB TV card as well

cheers.

I noticed on the French DAB transponder a new pid appeared.
PID501 seems to carry someting similar to PID 301 (french DAB )
It's transmitted on 239.0.1.10 port 7010 but doesn't work with fedi2eti.

Could someone with much more skills than me (@Adam792 maybe..) take a look?

Thanks

Hi @cirio70

I noticed this myself too, and I did some investigation on it - like you I found the IP address and port, but that fedi2eti doesn't work.

I think it's actually some kind of "raw" audio feed. "MPX" is what is used in FM transmission, it refers to the final processed signal that goes to the FM transmitter (15kHz mono audio + 19kHz stereo pilot + L-R + 57kHz RDS etc). I managed to decapsulate some of the data from within the IP stream, but I couldn't decode it. I don't know what format it's in. Very curious!

It seems strange because the MP2 radio stations on the transponder are already used for the FM transmitters, with the equipment to produce the MPX from the audio and the RDS UECP data PID being located on site.

Maybe i'm a little OT, please forgive me!
I noticed, on 28E 11426 H (the TP carrying the DAB feeds) that "TalkSport Disribution" is listenable!
It probably carries the feed for AM transmitters.
I found 3 pids (850/851/852) all carrying the same program encoded in HE-AAC.
Code:
Audio #1
ID : 850 (0x352)
Format : AAC LC SBR
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity with Spectral Band Replication
Commercial name : HE-AAC
Format settings : NBC
Muxing mode : LATM
Codec ID : 2
Duration : 16 s 0 ms
Bit rate mode : Variable
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Channel layout : C
Sampling rate : 32.0 kHz
Frame rate : 15.625 FPS (2048 SPF)
Compression mode : Lossy

ATM i can't stream 'em directly but if i record the pid i can play it with MPC (Media Player Classic) For some reason VLC refuse to play the file.

As far as I know too these are indeed the feeds for the MW transmitters. The different PIDs probably carry different advertising (TalkSport has regional opt-outs for its commercials). I’m not sure which PID will relate to what region!

@cirio70 - absolutely brilliant stuff that you wrote here . As soon as I find some time i am going to try it.
2 questions :
a) who from providers is using aac960 ? Only Rai DAB on 5W ? Anybody else ?
b) is sound quality from exteplayer3 "better" from Gstreamer ?

I didn't notice any quality difference between Gstreamer and Exteplayer.

aac960 is used by the majority of dab radios ATM.
Here's for example the Salisbury mux on 10 East:
Code:
Ensemble: Salisbury (0xc1d8)
****************************************************************************
 # Programme Label Serv.Id. P/S SubCh Capac.Units Prot. Bitrate Mode

Free CUs on this multiplex = 470

As you can see the programmes listed as DAB+ use the aac960 codec so, in this case only "Grt Hits Sals" is listenable with Gstreamer
(Please note that the above scan is quite old.... maybe the actual mux could be a little bit different)

cirio70 - maybe i can help a little bit :-)...atm I am using OpenATV 6.4 on SF4008 and CAN listen to all AAC960 channels without problems.
I am using Eti_tools_arm files which was made by mcelliot_g on satdreamgr forum almost 2 years ago
when we were discussing some other topic, look at

For me there is no need to use serviceapp and 5002 instead of 4097 in definition of DAB channels in bouquet file.
If I understand this problem with AAC960 only exists if we use your files, am I right ?

It's FTA on the BFBS transponder (10°E 11221V). Only the Salisbury one is present - BFBS is the operator, and I guess it just ended up being cheaper for them to use their own satellite capacity for distribution to the transmitter(s) than a web or microwave link.

By chance, I got an up to date list of the services a couple of days ago, it's much more packed out now :D

Code:
Salisbury (0xc1d8)
