Receiving Astra 2A 2B satellites for Sky UK from Israel

Yes, used it myself, there are many others with various degrees of service, I subscribe to one of the best, but the one you mentioned is free to the user, which is great.

I would like to help our friend from Israel, I have been in his position. I subscribe to a service which offers a very good, easy, economical and ready to go set up. I tried a few others before settling on this one. I could place the name of it rather than a link if that is allowed. I have not financial connection with said organisation although I do moderate their forum.

wait until end fo htis year begining of next when theastra 2f launches it will givea idea if it will be possible but to be hones ti say a dish of about 6-10m or greater will b need in yoru area if at all, it will all depend on teh chanensl you want. your best goign iptv route

Three new satellites will be ;launched to replace 2A 2B & 1N over the next 2-3 years. SO even if you spend thousands of shekels now on a big dish to get Sky UK, theres no guarantee that you will still be able to get them once Astra 2F 2E & 2G are launched (they are being launched out of order its not a mistake on my part)

Forget about Sky UK - have a look at Sky Italia instead - thats MUCH easier to get in your country.

Or you could forget all this uncertainty and go the way of a VPN. These days of smart TV´s it is simple.

I use a ChannelMaster 2.4m offset and SMART Quad LNB with a HD box - if you do a search of this forum you will find several posts with what you can receive - which depends on time of day. The dish is now sold by SkyWare Global who have an Israeli importer - if you get it from them you are not charged the very high import duty for personal imports. They will do installation or just the dish - if you do it yourself you will need a proper Spectrum Analyser etc. One thing to note is that you don't need the special feed - ordinary offset LNBs work fine but I found the SMART to be best. If you have a dish bigger than 2.4m you need special permission from the communications ministry. Originally I had an old 3.6 DH prime focus dish but the present 2.4m offset ChannelMaster outperforms this probably because its side lobe performance is better at rejecting Arabsat transponders. For BBC the best solution is as described by others with a VPN and BBC iPlayer.

but it is pointless anyone forking out money just now, wait until 2f is online and everyone can get a better idea if it is feasable

1N is (temporarily) in service and coverage in France is much as it was before.

But 2F is currently testing and is due to come into service within weeks: There is an extensive Thread about it here:
