But wait - your setup shows you use a TBS5925. Lower cutoff frequency with that card is above the required 10.4 - 10.5 GHz frequencies, so you may be unlucky.

Check streamreader configuration file in Crazyscan and uncomment the IFStart=250 and IFStop=2350 to allow an extended IF range.

;IFStart=950
;IFStop=2150
;LNBMid=7000
;! Change IF range (default 950-2150MHz)
IFStart=250
IFStop=2350
;LNBMid=6000
LNBStk=23000

I looked just now and it's already similar :-

;! Change IF range (default 950-2150MHz)
;IFStart=250
;IFStop=2150
;LNBMid=6000
;LNBStk=21000

Would a 5927 be any better ?

Uncomment (take away) the semicolons (;) immediately in front of IFStart=250 and IFStop=2150 and LNBStk=21000.

TBS 5927 has the same tuner/demod as my TBS 6903, which works OK at 10.4 GHz, so I would expect it to perform as well down there. Don't quote me though, as I don't have a 5927.

9750 MHz with the Inverto.

OK I soon realized after I replied what you meant but any scan doesn't actually show the 10.4 freq so ??

When you say 10.4 I assume you mean 10495. What's the frequency range you've set for Es'Hail 2 in Crazyscan? 10400 t0 10600 will do nicely.

ideally you need a different receiver the minitiouner. It tunes from 144mhz to 2.4Ghz. covers a wide range of SR down to 33ks and all the FEC
if you want to see what freq tv is on here is the wideband sdr link

to listen to the narrowband stations on ssb
QO-100 Narrowband WebSDR

most if not all sat receivers do not go down low enough in freq the tv beacon is on 10.492500Ghz with an lnb LO 9.75Ghz
you need a receiver that will tune to 742.5Mhz . the lowest most sat receivers go to is 940 Mhz

OK the way only to change the range was to edit the crazyscan.ini guess it's obvious. Anyway a scan produced a few spikes but nothing in signal when I searched but I am using a £4.99 PLL LNB, now waiting for the green octogon 25khz crystal one which hopefully will get me something - do these spikes mean something ?crazyscan.JPG

Ooh my head is spinning ! I can't seem to find a price for this ? Only available in Kit form it seems ? Can the software be used for any DVB receiver ?
Yes I have been looking at the websdr of course but any decoding of SSTV etc not sure how you can from a website ?

Hi sat-tv-fan
you absolutely do not need a specific LNB.
With a 5-year no PLL old black inverto I get perfectly these frequencies.
The most important thing is the streamreader.ini which must be adapted,
after all works.
TBS 5925 USB cards do not work because they only go down to 10500 otherwise
95% of LNBs and cards work.
Look at my setting, no problem the frequency 10493 is obtained.
good luck.:)

all this had already been explained in the link I gave above.

PS :the minitioune software only works with the minitioune USB receiver

If you are prepared to sacrifice an older style DRO Universal LNB you could attempt unscrewing the trap for the 9.75GHz band to get the lower frequencies.

It doesn't look like you are seeing it. Try a plot like stephan94's

price/kit: Key components only MiniTiouner USB interface module – British Amateur Television Club and you need to be a member
S/W for Minitioune only

You'll struggle with the low SRs on a DRO LNB but CS can blindscan the beacon and wide sigs. When looking for narrow sigs, check the web sdr chat for SR & freq. Use CS in non-blindscan setting SR & freq. That's where there will might <edited after Stephan94's post> be a problem with DRO - you don't know the frequency precisely and it will drift. I found CS works OK to 125ks/s but have not tried lower. (TBS6983, Octagon OSLO + TCXO or GPSDO locked)

Attached shows 1100ks/s on CS & Minitioune (Gilat PLL LNB )

I've got a Minitiouner from the BATC, (it's worth becoming a member even if you are not interested in amateur TV as their CQTV magazine is amazing, a lot of crossover with the stuff on here)it works well with domestic stuff too, well I loaned one off my friend and ended up buying the kit for one myself on the weekend. I also bought a Lime Mini SDR.

I wonder if any domestic boxes can tune that low, I've got a Mutant HD51 and a Edision Primo IP S2, neither of those will do it natively it seems.
Not sure if its a software limitation, hardware limitation or both!
