Thanks for getting back to me. The problem is that she doesn’t really remember (she’s 90). But I’ve eeked out that it might have been an Andalusian channel or that was its name. She says that she had only a few channels and didn’t pay for them.@krys_k1
Repeating my question from early on: have you asked her what channels she used to get/watch on the old receiver?
That might clarify which channels on which satellites need to be received with a new receiver - and whether or not you might be "getting yourself" into "dangerous" areas w.r.t, the "legality" if a genuine subscription is needed to do that.
What I don’t understand is that from above posts I should have f
Perhaps I was naive in that I thought that buying a decoder on Amazon and plugging into existing set up is all OK. I should perhaps have been clearer in my original post - I was only looking for free channels. If what I am attempting to do is illegal i.e. there is no such thing as free Spanish channels (I believe that some countries / companies allow their channels to be watched for free e.g. TVP Polonia) I will stop. No issues with that. However, perhaps as an addendum to your advise, you could let me know how I could go about getting free Spanish channels. If this isn't possible, perhaps some advise on how to go about paying for this service with either the existing set up or a new set up. Many thanks.Ok I will spell it out for you as you seem unable to join the dots, programme/channel piracy is illegal, so firstly you are committing a crime yourself by buying and using equipment allowing you to steal from programme providers, secondly most sellers of illegal satellite pirate equipment are stealing from programme providers for financial gain, the money from which could be going to more serious criminal activities, for example drugs production/trafficking, prostitution, people trafficking, the same equally applies to IPTV pirate equipment, you simply have no idea what the repercussions could be buying a 'hookie' piece of equipment from Fleebay or Jungle Jims.
