For a bit of trivia ,using the Isle of Wight tracking station detecting storms over the UK and France ,so far since midnight there have been 15438 strikes.

Weatherman has mentioned there is about six hours of rain around here starting in an hour or two.

The garden certainly needs it.

What little rain we've had in all the alleged recent storms has made no impact here, either.

But it's getting overcast and muggy right now and hopefully what you get down South might get to us tomorrow.

There was a fire at Southerness holiday camp and as you can see only one dish could take the heat. Fans of the penta dish will be happy they got it.


This happened a couple of weeks ago in the good weather, I have been way to busy to post until now. It has been cloudy and thundery recently.

I had 2 weeks on the Welsh coast near Harlech. 3 miles up a remote valley, no internet at all and no mobile phone coverage. Blazing hot there the entire fortnight, I came back about the same brown colour as I normally do from the Med

I've been there, there is a load of castles and other heritage to see in the area. The weather is better there but it is quieter in Dumfriesshire. Probably because of the weather. If you went to Portmerion you could have taken a photo and passed it off as a Med holiday due to all the Italian houses.

Yes, we passed on the opportunity to visit last time we were in North Wales - we drove right on past Portmeirion!

Not one of our best holiday "spur of the moment" decisions.

I have the box set, just my sort of thing, oh and the showers have just started.

Went out for a walk mid-afternoon and cut it rather short due to looming storm clouds.


But (again) not a drop!
