Didnt go to Portmerion this trip, as OH has a crocked ankle and cant walk much, but we went last time we were in the area, mainly as Id seen the Prisoner on TV many years ago and fell in love with the surreal nature of the programme.

I remember scouring the tv schedules in the early 1980's so I could record the entire series onto vastly expensive vhs tapes.

Yes, wasn't technology expensive in those days. Went to Portmerion when we lived in N Wales. We had some friends from London visiting and she was a serious fan so we wet off to take them. Unfortunately, she was also somewhat agoraphobic and had a panic attack half way there, so mission aborted

Very glad to say that it rained heavily all night and we are once again in a Green & Pleasant Land. Time to remove the Extreme Fire Hazard signs from all the approaches to t'Moor?

Around 8ish we were close to water coming into the front door,but it just held off enough,i've never seen flash flooding like that( except on tv with a silly tv presenter standing in it in wellies)

I'm heading to my Mum's for a weeks visit. An annual pilgrimage timed around her birthday. She lives in Langley Park, near Durham. Hiring a car at the airport and driving up.

Thanks and I'd love to take you up on that but I am at the mercy of my mothers whims to visit friends and relatives that I hardly know or even wish to forget about/visit factory outlet shops in the uncharted regions of Washington because she absolutely needs that fourth quilted coat/ repair, adjust, install anything that can't be readily done by her team of handymen on the other end of her phone and multiple other things that require her to be run round in the hire car.....

......but then I remember she is my Mum, I'm her only child and as she's almost 85, she probably deserves to be indulged for a week....
