Must say that I'm disappointed at a certain lack of 'redness' in the league for the final season. Anyway...
Special Competition
As mention above, I will be organising a special side competition as a farewell gift. What follows is the proposed competition structure for this competition, which will be known as 'Top Cup':
* Points for Top Cup will be the weekly FPL points minus transfer penalties.
* All teams from PL SupaLiga and Den League will participate, excluding teams which appears to be inactive (no transfers made for a long time).
* The leading teams of SupaLiga, Den League and UniSat Champions (if not one of the aforementioned) after Gameweek 19 (halfway through the FPL season) will automatically qualify for the 'Tournament Stage'.
* All other teams go to the 'Qualifying Stage', running GW20-24. All teams will be seeded in pots according to their league position after Gameweek 19, and will be drawn into groups of mostly 4 teams. Scoring will be based purely on the points minus penalties in FPL. Group winners plus a number of best runners-up will qualify for the Tournament Stage.
* Non-qualifying teams will go to the 'Play-off Stage', running GW25-29. All teams will be seeded in pots according to their league position after Gameweek 24, and will be drawn into groups of 4 teams. Scoring will be based on the 'top system' - top scorer in each GW will earn a single group point, with tie-breaking following FPL principles. Group winners qualify for Tournament Stage.
* The Tournament Stage, running GW30-34. The 16 remaining teams will be seeded in pots according to their league position after Gameweek 29, and will be drawn into 4 groups of 4 teams. Scoring will be based on the 'top system' - top scorer in each GW will earn a single group point, with tie-breaking following FPL principles. Group winners qualify for 'Final Group Stage'.
* The Final Group, running 35-38. Scoring will be based on the 'top system' - top scorer in each GW will earn a single group point, with tie-breaking following FPL principles. Group winner is the winner of the Top Cup.
