Spent ages reading through the posts and it looks like a nice new toy with a steep ( actualy vertical) learning curve. I am tempted. Found it here and the price looks good. Know anywhere cheaper? None in the Uk it seems.

It appears they are the ones to buy it from. I sent an email yesterday evening asking a few questions and got a reply today. Lucky with many places if you even get a reply. Think I will do a seperate Windows 7 install when it arrives and this thread is answering loads of questions without me even asking.

Some handy features there. The first one could be useful for checking temporary feeds to see whether they are still up since the last scan.

Oligarchs? Never heard of that before, I had to look it up....not likely I would be able to have a word with anyone that rich, I'm of the 99%, they of the 1%....or less.
Come to think of it he is in Ukraine, not Russia:confused

TBS says they are the same except the 6925 can handle generic streams and the 5925 can't.

From "Generic Stream Encapsulation (GSE) - Implementation Guidelines" of DVB.org

_http://www.dvb.org/technology/standards/a134.GSE_Implementation_Guidelines.pdf

The first generation of DVB standards only supports audio/video transport using the MPEG format [4] with a Transport
Stream packet multiplex (MPEG-TS). Multi Protocol Encapsulation (ETSI EN 301 192 [5]) is the DVB standard for the
encapsulation of data and other content on MPEG-TS packets.

The second generation of DVB standards features backwards compatibility modes for carrying MPEG-TS, as well as
generic modes for carrying arbitrary packets of variable length. These are referred to as Generic Streams (GS). Such
Generic Streams are intended to transport a sequence of data bits or data packets, possibly organized in frames, but with
no specific timing/rate constraints
.

GSE was initially devised for DVB-S2 [2] Generic Streams. It was introduced to improve the efficiency of carriage of
IP data (and other network and link-layer packets) over DVB-S2 Generic Streams.

Yes, GS is used for data streams and will only be of interest to professional users of the card. Or did Vipersan find a C-Band feed a while ago with some video content?

Did everyone go to sleep?
I know most here can't see Galaxy 3C but just to let you know there are 16APSK signals with audio/video out there. Llew, yes there was a signal with audio/video on Intelsat 805 C band that VP was picking up and I could see it here also, it was 32APSK I believe.

Hi friends ..
Just checked again on 55.5West Intelsat 805 32APSK

The feed at 4162 is still there though not as strong as previously ..
Still ACM/VCM ...
Still changing from 32psk ..through 8psk and variable FEC ..
Still just strong enough to lock ...but no sign of a video feed atm ..
Maybe the reduced sig strength playing its part ..or maybe its now data only ?

Really ..whats needed is an updated version on TSReader ..
Never did get the version I have to display/analyse the stream ..
Here are the pictures

Right you are!. I had been unable to get anything there recently but bumping the dish a bit got the signal back. The video hangs/freezes occasionally and the audio is sometimes garbled but thats the way it was before when I was getting it.
Its a strange thing, I get lots of signal..about 11.5dB but it acts like I'm just on the border of losing it. Occasionally I get a value in BER in CrazyScan. I assume it is the ACM/VCM switching back and forth.
dx qwer, do you get this as a strong viewable station or does it have the problems I mentinoned above?
