Looks like you pressed Scan Frequency instead of Scan Range?

Your DVBViewer transponder list for that satellite will be out of date. That's what DVB Viewer uses. - (DVB-S_0216.ini)

Get a later one from http://www.fastsatfinder.com/transponders.html. If that has up-to-date ones, put it in DVB Viewer's Transponder folder (swop with the existing one).

Just to add a bit to this discussion..its not really necessary to install TSreader it you just want to stream to VLC from CrazyScan. Point invoke analyzer to vlc.exe then for parameters use %Proto%://%ip%:%port%

Ah, yes Starman. Forgot that one. A good solution for just viewing found channels - cuts out the middleman!

It's just as sensitive as my Vu+ Uno... and Vu+ Uno is as sensitive as the Dr HD F15... so very, very comparable really.

CJ,

I installed a SkyStar 2eXpress HD into a PC yesterday and tried out EBS Pro for Windows but could not get the blind scan to work.
The card is giving pictures in Alt DVB and can get signal info using TransEdit so the card is getting signals OK.

I scanned a satellite using the SkyStar 2 express HD with EBS Pro and got nothing at all. In fact it seemed to be having some problems as the PC mouse movements became slow or unresponsive and I had to use Task Manager to close down EBS Pro.
However, scanning the same satellite with EBS Pro using another PC I have with a TBS card in it results in all the expected signals being captured by EBS Pro

Would anyone know if I need to install any other drivers or utilities that EBS Pro relies on for blind scanning with a SkyStar 2 express HD card? I checked the Technisat website and the box that the card came in and there is no mention of blind scan capability for this card?

Rgds

What StreamReader.dll version are you using? From memory, the latest ones didn't work. I had to use v1.61 (or something with 61 in it).

Also, check StreamReader.log file for clues.

CJ,

I am using streamreader 1.1.0.1162 on both the PC's.

I tested the EBS Pro again on the PC with the SkyStar 2 express HD card, today it is working OK !!
There must have been some conflict going on yesterday on the PC that a full cold reboot resolved. I am sure I did a warm restart yesterday and it did not clear the problem.

EBS Pro does miss some feeds though, it is not 100% accurate, however, neither is CrazyScan or the TBS Blind Scan utility shipped with their cards.

Thx for your help and advice, most appreciated.

I do get issues with this card in that when it's actively receiving signals (either video or just looking at constellation), I get freezes on my whole computer (even the mouse freezes for a second or so). So would be interesting to see if new/different drivers would fix this.

No any driver update for this card - only initial version from install CD.

If you want run any StreamReaderEx-BDA based applications (CS, EBS, SmartDVB with blindsan module and etc.) - need restart BDA driver (if before used standalone BDA app).
