Why dont you use CCcam 2.1.3 to read your card in the internal reader of your DM800? That way you can continue to use your DM800 while waiting for an entitlements update.

because i use the omnikey reader to read the card as im a bit nervous about the heat of the box (my box sits on top of my av receiver which is very hot as well!!)

i now have newcs 1.67/CCcam2.1.3 set up for the past few days and the card did not receive an update. as it is now the 28/12/09, my entitlements have all expired and when i put the card back into the original sly box it says "this is not the correct viewing card, please call us on 0818 etc.."

any ideas?!

Andrew1000, absolutely no question, Omnikey 3121 is the way to go if you're using NewCS, its by far the fastest for that card. I have tested this card extensively in DM7025, DM8000, Smargo and Onmikey. Omnikey gave an ECM response of 0.099. Next best was smargo at around 0.160 with internal readers very similar.

And what GAs are used for in case of 0963 card?

I will add from mine side that i have freesat card [dont wana more] and i just addedd CCcam 213 then inserted card and all entitlemens is done. Question is i got much more entitlements [than freesat ] from former user can i use his soon expired subscribtpion by adding box key and serial or i can forget ?

CCcam 2.1.3 does not need the boxkey to open sky uk basic package (i.e. everything bar sports and movies) I can confirm this as i have put a sky white card in dm 600 without boxkey and it clears all channels on the card. Previous posts have stated that it is necessary!

Well for me without the box key I couldn't even get fiver or the other basic type chans to work although the freesat Chan Sky3 works as do all other freesat chans. As the not only the boxkey but also the card is not needed for these.

This whole thread is about running the white card. Basically you need to make sure you are running CCcam 2.1.3 and have your correct boxkey in place so you can clear your premium channels.Nothing more than that.

i have 1 problem. i activated the white card (full incl. hd) in the pace 470n. now all channels working, but only the hd channels not working in a dm 8000.

what's the problem? i have to activated in a hd sky digibox so that working the hd channels in a dm 8000???

normally i would not make a post in a thread such as this one unless i had some thing to contribute towards it my self, however i have spent the better part of the last 3 mornings going over this thread from post one quite happily reading every thing i could.

i have been using a DM7020 for about 6 years maybe longer and honestly i have never even considered cs'ing. now after reading this thread and some others here i have decided to bite the bullet and in the new year i'm going to take a crack at it.

i'm most likely going to go down the UBUNTU server route as described in the excellent tutorial by B16MCC, as i already have a machine running ubuntu and i'm quite comfortable with the workings of it.

i'm planning on a setup as such
UBUNTU server with a omnikey 3121
1 DM7020 and upto x3 DM500'S or what ever clones i can get my hands on.

this setup is going to be just to share my own 0936 card within my own home in various rooms.

any way back on track. i'd like to thank all those who have contributed towards this thread and if i do need help i'll ask. although i can already see that just about every query i have had has already been asked and answered within this thread at some point or another.

so once again thanks for the hard work you fellas do and wish me luck.

Hi sounds like you have it almost have it straight in your head, but for a much more simple setup i would say stick with debian over Unbuntu, i have the same setup as you have listed, which runs freeze free for over 45 days with 100 peers, but the key thing to have is one of the 500's running mgcam rather than CCcam this will then keep you updated, but all the info is here for you, there is also a great, auto installer for the CCcam server out there (another big forum) and full instructions how to add the newcs to it, the omnikey is the best thing two have in your setup too.

I never quite liked Ubuntu myself. I run Debain, though really the choice between the two comes down to personal preferance, both will do the job nicely.

Your other option is to run a Smargo, as this can work directly with CCcam, whereas the Omnikey needs NewCS. If your own client boxes pass EMM's back to your server and you run CCcam 2.1.3 your card should update as well, so no need for MgCam.

need information on deram box 500s.
old sky box is acting up and is hard to reset.
i want to mate this up with the white card i have
as stated dream boz will reset itself if the mains go out and if it is on channel 301 it will
not ask for the pin for perental lock out.
anyone have a store that is reasonable.

am using omnikey newcs reading card (and sharing to family)
and cccam to share to ppl i want more control over.

but have no idea of how to update without removing! hear cccam2.1.3 can and im using this, but it dont seem to work via newcs (could it be my settings)

If you want to use an omnikey then you must use NewCS to host the card. To update the card in NewCS you must connect at least one client using MGCamd. Use my Dreambox Config Creator to help you set it up.

I use an omnikey reader in an Ubuntu server running newcs 1.67 and get glitch free reception. I also have a BT homehub and have set up port forwarding. So if you need help with this then let me know specifics. You need to use advanced settings which is password protected. There are default settings for this. Once you have got yourself to advanced settings, application sharing.

very interesting q . Maybe i can help but i am user of freesat from sky only LOL. Newcs lastest version with added 963 is experimental only. I will not confrim it but u will be forced to change temporaily to lonely Cccam and leave it for few hrs [better night time] on C4 5 or 5er. Mine card is till january 21st.

Guys why is no one listening ! You can update your card in NewCS by connecting an MGCamd client. It's simple.

Follow these simple steps :-

Are you running your card in NewCS 1.67 ?
YES:- To update your card use MCamd as the client instead of CCcam, this will update the card in NewCS !
You DO NOT NEED to put the card in the sly box.
You DO NOT NEED to host the card in CCcam.

Not using NewCS ? Are you running your card in CCcam 2.1.3 ?
YES:- This will update all by itself.

Job done !
