Testing New White Sky UK Card - CAID 963

hello to all,
has anyone heard of white cards not working??
plug card in and it says put old card in for 5 min.
did this and card doesnot work at all.
did hard boot and left card in all night.
the new card will not show sky news at all.
no card sky news works,old card sky news works,new white card blank screen.

another problem is at a friends house free view.
epg has no channel 105 at did a hard boot as well.
no channel 105 at all and card says call the broadcaster
i suspect the card has not been mated to the box but why no channel 105???

I notice you are in Italy, have you got the Sly UK box that the card is paired with available to you? If yes, then try it in that and see if it works

I had a really hard time activating the new card, same as you. Took two weeks with resets, 3 firmware downloads, switching between the blue and white card, endless waiting etc to make it work.
Had only the "call the broadcaster" message.
In the end I had the box sitting without power for a couple of hours. After that it worked.

hello to all,
andel yes i have the freeview card in the box and it has no 105 at all?
probaly bec ause the card is not activater yet.

on the other box ther new white card is mated to original box and it says insert your new card.
as soon as i put in the new card the screen goes blank.
i have it on sky news to update and it is a free channel and it says plug in the old card and wait 5 min.
as soon as i plug the new card the the sky news free channel goes out.
i suspect the card is defective.

hello again forgot to mention free view card epg goes 101,103,104,106 and skips 105?? it is unknown why it skips a channel ralph

If you use CCcam 2.1.3 to host the card it will update the entitlements.
CCcam will take care of everything and you do not need MGCamd.
I have the following problem
i have the new sky white card everything is working just fine , but i can't see that CCcam 2.1.3 it will update the entitlements, i have the card for about 3 weeks now, what can be wrong?
Do i need to change something on the cccam.cfg ?

In my (admittedly limited, but backed up by posts on this forum) experience, the rights dates only get updated when they're close to expiring. What are your current dates?

In my experience they update about 4-5 weeks before they are due to expire. wait till then and they will update

hello to all and update
finaly got the free view card to activate and channel 105 came up on the epg.
meanwile my friend's box will not run with any card in it.
the card reader in this old pace 2200 is not reading the card at all.
looking at ther old blue card that has been running in this pace box its cooked.
if i flex the old blue card at the smart card were the chip is its darkened and plastic is cracked as well.
so the card cooking on the sky box and the official card is valid.
i suspect all the cards will heat up some what.
just thought you should know.

ok ive followed all this to a t ,got
ubuntu server= working gr8(had it on newcs,CCcam,Omnikey reader)
Omnikey reader=working gr8
600 pvr =working gr8
ok sorted all this out as described in tut and changed my box to MGDcamd and all my channels clear np ,my friends (only 7 )are still on CCcam and everything on theirs is clearing too
Problem:-
i cant get the entitlements to update ,i tried last nite left it on a movie channel all nite but checked and entitlemenst still the same
does it only update on certain nites? they are due on the 2/3/2010 and was hoping not to have put card back into original box any ideas???

1st off i wouldnt panic too much until it gets closer to the date of running out 2 march !!! lol ages away!!!

yea mine update some times str8 away when i put it on, other times ages!!!

have u had it update at all from that box ????

make sure au is ticked in newcs for the receiver ur using to update entitlements and untick for any others!!!

if mgcam is clearing channles the config side of it seems good!!!
but mine are default appart from these have a quick peek at mg_cfg

Totalacedude, so ya nearly totalacekilled your DM800 by modding it. Ya mad fecker. What inspired this. I am in the process of setting up a few buddies and because my box is a clone the best image I can get is Nabilo 0.11. Becasue of this I cannot install a Smargo (sitting on my mantlepiece at the moment) as the 0.11 kernel does not support Smargo. So I figured what the hell, I''ll go with using the internal reader. My DM800 has loads of ventilation. First my hard disk is via eSata. Secondly I currently use the machine using a DVB-T interface card. The interesting thing about that was that my DM800 came with a DVB-S card. So when I bought the the DVB-T card I found that the antenna in/out connections would not fit through the faceplate at the back of the DM800. So I had to remove that. So I'm hoping with no hard disk and no back plate the DM800 reader will be fine. Your viewpoint on this is appreciated.

as this is first time ive had card in my own server no its never cleared as i only had newcs and CCcam until i followed the way to get it to clear ,last time i had to put it back into the original sly+box to get it to update even that only done a few i had to fone sly themselfs

i only modded my receiver because i seemed to be 1 of the unlucky few that actually had a problem with the card in the reader! and working repairing electronics all day i know what im doing as last thing i want to do was butcher it

it seems that 80+% have no probs using the internal reader with the white card! so unless urs starts showing signs or misbehaving i would not even consider modding!

i know 1 person that even drilled the back of the cardreader with a small drill right behind the chip to let air get to it, but i have no idea if this did anything!

i personally think ull be fine, just give it a go...

For the first time since getting the system up and running in October I had problems getting my entitlements updated this weekend. I've been putting my card into the sly box overnight for the past week (they were due to run out 30/01/10) but woke up to a message to contact sly. The only other out of the usual message was when I was returning the card to the sly box a message popped up saying 'Initialising new viewing card'. Any how all is well after contacting them but my Q is how can I prevent this from happening in two months? What caused the updates to stop working? Is it just a case of returning the card to the box more often?

My setup is a DM500 clone, newcs1.67 CCcam2.11 with a local CS to my windows box running W7 MC/Hadu. I dont have a sat feed to the DM500 for now as all viewing is done on the W7 box. Now the entitlements are ok I'm back to 100% decrypting and a happily reliable system.

Anyone else experience this?

boez, read the thread more carefully. the card will not update at all using NewCS / CCcam. Either run it entirely in CCcam 2.1.3 or connect an MGCamd client to update the card.
