Another question: how do I put the channels into a favorite list which I have created?
My attempts end up with lists that don t "keep".
There doesn' t seem to be something like "confirm choice" at the end of a modification .
Besides,when I think I m filling the 'French" list,the items land into the "Italian" one etc...
and disappear thereafter...

All those features are outlined in the user manual that came with your M4. Did you get one?

I got one,but what they say just doesn t seem to work...
Once youi have renamed your groups,step 2 should be to select a bunch of channels and transfer them into the said group...it just does not happen.
Likewise ,moving channels up and down a given list ...I got the beige line... but it does nothing! I ended up geytting rid of all the local repeats of theRai3 channels & the radios,so I got less channels, and then used the TP (yellow) command to serch. There must be missing pages in that booklet..;

Besides, the performance on 9East is good today .I got the Berlusconi channels (mediaset)at 70% very watchable indeed
I will need a few days to "manage" my lists!

I don’t use Favourites myself. Just an alphabetical sort. Glad you’ve now got your M4 up and running. Whatever has been said about it in the past I find it a very reliable all round receiver particularly for motorised use.

yes ,i have to enquire whether our high winds in the wet season are strong enough to repeatedly de-tune such a motorised installation...no-one here seems to have one!

If you want to comfortably enjoy the full arc from east to west a motorised dish would be the way forward.

sure,some trees and neighbouring houses may not "agree"!
How do people cope with motorised dishes in windy areas in UK ? like seaside or coastal areas?
I easily get 14W to 28E;have unsuccesfully tried 30 w and 33E ,but anyway there isnt much really WORTH watching on these...
would be fun to try 42E(turkey) but houses stand in the way.

What size dish? 80cm to 1m should be ok. You could always take the dish off the motor when strong winds are forecast.

good question... my present 80cm gets me almost everything between 14w and 26 east;I get 28E with another,fixed dish of 120cms
what is beyond 30 east seems quite uninteresting...what do you think?
the 52 east seems off limits due to houses & high trees

Your best bet is to check out the likes of Lyngsat and decide for yourself if anything east of 28.2e would be of interest to you.

You can also check your satellite footprint in relation to where you are based from there too.

Depending on your language of preference you may well find that you can change audio for some channels too.

39 has 3 greek channels which are on hotbird
42 is fat with hundreds of Turkish channels but nothing in "accessible" languages,English french German Spanish...

yes of course ,but Turkey is very monolingual.... There s a Russian one at 33-ish ,but it doesnt cover beyond Warsaw....
