Don't know MB, i don't follow Ku activity much. What freq range are we talking about - is it worth strapping the 12.75 to 13.75 lnb on and monitor for a while

Iv'e done a quick H/V scan of 30.8E Upper extended Ku just out of curiosity - nothing to show at this time.

@John

What is the small bit of guff at about 13.920 GHz or thereabouts in your scan result?

11595 V at this time
Been keeping an eye on 11595H this afternoon. I think they have been adjusting the orientation of the signal. Around 1400 UK time switching to V would not cancel the signal. 1600 UK time switching to V eliminates the signal completely. Around 1615 signal stopped.

seeing this at the moment , 13406 V beacon type of signal - pretty sure it's coming off the bird and not interference as i loose it when panning left or right / up or down. Will keep an eye on it.

@John

Is that with one of the extended Ku-Band LNB's from the mini group buy?
Looks promising, perhaps I should get one strapped on to a dish.

Congratulations, I think you have it. How accurate is your frequency? I see it on 13400.9978 +/-5kHz V using an unlocked 11.3GHz PLL SMW LNB with about 2.5dB NF at that frequency. It peaks in the same place as the Arabsat 6A beacons on 12749 V & H (H is about 2.5kHz above V), I can't see the Turksat beacon on this LNB.
I'm still confused by the ITU filings.

Good question re: Fx - I'm not exactly sure what the LO was for the lnb , i set the Promax for 11.80 but i could be wrong. To get 13.401 GHz to show on the Promax i have to set the LO to 11794.3 MHz , which might be right, assuming your freq capture is accurate. Bear in mind it's only a really cheap Chinese lnb bought for experimenting with so not expecting super accurate device. Assuming that's a beacon spike, and i can confirm at some point the official frequency, i can set the LO accordingly - interesting times ahead :D
