Türksat-5a and new ku band??

seeing this at the moment , 13406 V beacon type of signal - pretty sure it's coming off the bird and not interference as i loose it when panning left or right / up or down. Will keep an eye on it.

I can confirm 13428 V - earlier this morning on 1,2m (I was in linear horizontal at this time)...
Tests at this time: 11465 H, 11515 H, 11555 H, 11595 H, 11635 H, 11660 H

I missed 13428V. I thought I might see transponder noise but I could not.
There's about 1/2dB of excess ground noise at 24.1 elevation.

If i remember right, you had one of the metal cased more expensive variety of the single polarity extended Ku lnb's - just wondering what the LO is on yours..... on my cheaper version i'm sure it's 11800 but don't think it was accurately set as that at factory ?, so can't guarantee the absolute accuracy from the scans. All very interesting though , i also checked out 17E extended Ku a few times over the last couple of days but not seen any activity as yet in the 13.4 to 13.65 GHz range.
** 13.432 V is now showing as well

Full extended band scan (ignore the big signal at 13.650, its the fundamental of the synth at the IF)
Blue is live trace with the marker, magenta is the max held trace which has been running for the past couple of hours. The carrier on 13428MHz is varying in level and the marker shows the instantaneous value. The noise is only visible when the carrier is at maximum (TP max gain?)

I can see 13428 V active now (linear vertical scan on cheap plastic one, LO 11800)
/edit: This time I can see beacon 13401 V with poor signal.

This is nirvana time for the "wavy line men" on this extended Ku-Band.
I wonder how long it is before the "picture men" get a look in?

I better get that box of extended Ku-Band LNB's out of the loft and dust them off, there might be sales forthcoming?

From the mini group buy, I confirm that the L.O. for the three different types of extended Ku-Band LNB's is 11.80 GHz and the range is 12.75 - 13.75 Ghz for all of them.
