uk bbc channels normally on 28.2 on intelsat 907 27.5w ?

If you have a HD box for say itv and channel 4 can you share these channels on i.e to complexes like they do at the moment or is this only done using HD leads as dont they just use RF.

If you tried doing this, you'd be wasting a lot of money as I suspect the BEEB will more than likely shut things down the way it's going.

Why would the BBC waste money on an extra secure encryption system when the channels are being broadcast unencryted on another satellite and could be place-shifted by anyone. Just doesn't make sense.

It relates to the streaming of content from one place to another, usually done (but not exclusively) by a Slingbox.

Thanks for the reply but as everyone has said bbc etc is still on 27.5 w so it wont alter the canaries if they dont encrypt etc. Has there been any moves or differences in changes there? . I know you need certain boxes but when you are providing for hundreds of apartments very cheap.

If so, that isn't a surprise - despite the insistence of some that the BBC would not be much troubled by the 27.5W services being exploited.

I'm not going to check as I temporarily bricked my Skybox F3 a couple of weeks ago whilst trying to get results!

most of them are still working here...including the 4 HD channels

only ones not working for me are bbc1 scotland, bbc one ni and bbc1 wales....but i have no idea if these were working before!
