You've got to imagine that if Turkmenistan Sports continue with their EPL coverage for the next few weeks like they've already done the past couple of weekends, then it's surely only a matter of time before all of this gets some sort of mainstream attention. If you don't mind the lack of English commentary (something lacking on subs for providers in mainland Europe anyway) and DOGs at all four corners of the screen, then you've got perfectly good station to watch it on. Where as many other sources of games show 3pms on a Saturday only, require looking out for low-power feeds if they crop up, or requiring massive dishes, with Turkmenistan Sport then provided you can get a clear view of 52E (which can be too low down for some people here) a cheap DVB-S2 satellite receiver with a 60-70cm dish will do the job as a one stop shop!
Questions will surely be asked as to how the Premier League will try and tackle this, but I'm not sure they can do much - the Turkmen State Media are unofficially relaying coverage rather than taking a direct feed from the Premier League (the Premier League's own website states that there is no official coverage in Turkmenistan) and I'm sure they are not going to spite Stan Sport on this (I'm sure an alternative source could be found anyway if needed), they simply can't approach say Eutelsat, Intelsat, SES etc. to get them to block them from broadcasting because it's from Turkmenistan's own satellite and is uplinked (presumably) from Turkmenistan itself, they can't persuade them to use a different beam on the satellite to steer coverage away from western Europe as the only beams that allow small dish reception in Turkmenistan also allow easy reception in the UK. And the state run media that broadcasts the coverage is part of a very authoritarian regime (Reporters Without Borders ranked in 2014 press freedom in the country 178 out of 180, higher than only Eritrea & North Korea!) so we might have on our hands a rogue source of Premier League football beaming FTA into the UK that can be received with small dishes and decent picture quality where Sky & BT have shelled out billions of pounds to nominally obtain the exclusive rights at home!
