I've been using an EZ-2150 positioner with my Dreambox for several years to drive my 1m dish. I replaced the Superjack actuator about 6 months ago & all was fine. The v-Box suddenly produced the nP error complaining that it couldn't sense pulses from the dish.

I checked the conections at the dish and all seems fine. If I stick a voltmeter across the motor connection at the back of the positioner and attempt to move the dish using the V-box buttons I was expecting a jump to around 36v before the nP error cuts it off but the reading is way below that.

Are there any tests I can carry out to check if the V-box has failed?

What is the reading?

Would of thought there would of been a voltage drop as current is drawn.

Have you checked the reed sensor?

I'm using a digital meter and it takes a moment to register but the nP error cuts in so quickly that the reading fluctuates for a second and then reduces to zero.

I'm not sure how to check the sensor...any tips?

I connected a golf trolley battery directly to the motor - it was fully charged and supplied 13.5 volts. Not a cheep! I assumed that there would be some action. Grrr!

Normally use a 24v drill battery. The actuator motor may well be stuffed.
