My name is moonbase and I am a satellite equipment hoarder !

Does that sound familiar, sheds and loft overflowing with satellite equipment that you have never used in years?
Can't bear to throw it out in the unlikely event it will get used at some point in the distant future or that some toby might come along and buy it off you even though it is obsolete.

Well, this topic is here to give you support by providing a platform for you to proudly list your satellite equipment disposal achievements.
My new plan is that for every new item that arrives, two items have to go in advance of the new arrival.

Today I started by throwing out two siezed up Superjack QARL3624 actuators.
Originally, my thoughts were "I will dismantle them and free up the drive mechanism and I have two decent actuators", four years later they were in a shed, untouched.

They are currently residing on my front drive awaiting one of the local scavengers to steal them.
I have found this to be a good method to get rid of metal objects, some dont even see the day out, it took a week for a washing machine to be scavenged though.
Picture of today's disposals below.

Please feel free to join this help group.

The One in - Two out method would be so difficult for me - it's giving me extreme mental pain just to think about it - please help me lol :p

Rather mundanely, just some lumps of concrete from the base of an old mount - the neighbours have got a skip in, so I asked them nicely if I could dump it. Nightmare taking stuff like that to the tip nowadays, unless you break it up small and mix it in with other stuff. Not that I would, you understand.

Ok, I'm nervous but I will confess. I was in rehab a few weeks ago and was convinced to sell the 3.8 Patriot. I came to the realisation that I'd never get around to making a tracker for a 300kg monster. At least I know it's new owner already has a mount that can take it and an excavator to dig out the hole for its base.

However, my counsellor was not impressed when I told her that I just had to get 4 smaller dishes to fill the void in the shed left by the Patriot. They were a bargain, honest.

Went to the recycling centre today and got rid of a DM7020, along with a Datong Morse tutor and old Samsung laptop that I used for SSTV
Thankfully not too many tears !

Throw.... away? What's this activity that you speak of?

(I do have a LOT of carp in the garage to get rid of...)
A true hoarder never 'throws' stuff away.

Come on guys, get throwing !

I have found two more items to be thrown out tomorrow, pictures in the morning.
My throw away count will be four items after tomorrow morning, I will be in credit balance, to be used for two new arrivals.

More from me.

Today's throw aways are pictured below, a Zone 2 satellite dish and a Manhattan Plaza receiver.
Another "two out, one in" which when added to yesterday's throw ways now gives me a credit balance for two new arrivals.

I would have been happy to help John but I will get a web server (free) for the RC2000 soon and I think I will keep it as a souvenir for my museum (probably)

How about a nice STD5000 DSR for the museum. I tried some IQ samples from fsphil but need to spend more time to work out how to load them to the IQ gen. It all light up though. There's also an Astrastar AX1 ADR in its box, museum quality:)
