Ah - Facebook. I know I make life difficult for myself but I refuse point blank to go there. Sorry, I'm not meaning to shoot down your advice, I'm sure you're right. Just not for me.

Maybe one of the beta-testers will be able to give me a bit of advice here - as and when....

I closed down my first dalliance with FB, but now find it extremely useful for supplementing enjoyment of my hobbies.

And its very clever in throwing up Friend suggestions, especially folk called Dale

Anybody else finding that with the french dolby digital plus channels on 5w, changing the volume does not work so in essence 5% sounds the same as 100%. It's not an issue for me because I can just use the tv remote. Same problem with both digital audio formats, PCM and Bit Stream.

I'll check that tomorrow mikeisyou.

In the meantime what I have noticed tonight is that the SX88+ lists only two audio tracks on France 3, whereas the Octagon 4008 has three. The missing one on the SX88 is the English (VO) track. Haven't checked to see what the Edision lists, but this seems to be another little problem with the SX88+.

France 3 on 11509 H for me lists 4 audio tracks, 3/4 doesn't work because DTS isn't currently supported, 4/4 Unknown is English. All the channels I have come across with DTS audio tracks have alternatives which work but it would be great if that worked aswell.

Thanks from me too. Now got to fathom out how to put the software on the box.....

Hi mw963

maybe this video can help you understand better.
When you unzip the rar folder.
only the mupg must be installed on the usb key.
after you do as on the video.
Good luck

You're right, finger trouble on my part, the English track is there (although silent at the moment because it's the news).

However, I haven't got your problem with the volume control on the SX88+, it seems to be fine.

Have you tried loading the software update mentioned above? I simply don't dare without further guidance.

Yep running last software, volume changer works fine on my backup tv so it might be down the fact that my tv supports dolby digital plus. Nice to see they fixed the NTSC to PAL problem I mentioned to them, now I can view 9e and 15w without having to turn off and turn on the box.

@mw963 I can see from you're description you're capable of picking up Astra 1 (19e) would you mind testing One HD the german channel. I'm getting a stuttering picture which goes away after 20 minutes.

This is my first post to the group so, be gentle with me. I have had my SX88+ for about 5 days and I am generally pleased with it. I am using firmware OCTAGON_SX88_SW_EU_V10452_170318.

Recording to a 128GB SSD in a USB cradle works fine but, I am having some trouble with timed recordings. I cannot get the time on the SX88+ accurate. If I tell it to get it from the Network, it is a few minutes out! (How can this be?) And if I choose manual setting of time then, it soon drifts off the correct time. Thus, setting a recording from the EPG isn't really going to record all of the programme I want. Also if leave the SX88+ on a satellite other than the one I want to record on, it doesn't seem to want to move the dish when recording time comes around. (I am using USALS with a STAB HH100.)

Does anyone have any suggestion?

Dear,
I put manual and it works.
Please, Could you program a recording for two Multistream programs (first one, after delay, after second one on a different channel same satellite) and tell me if everything is fine with your files?
Thanks

Hallo Pierangelo (the man who has a deny H265 and wants to know if his problems are also those of SX88)

Currently on multistream scheduled recordings, this does not work.
The recordings are with 0.KB, ie there is nothing to see.
This problem has already been reported to Octagon.
(and at Denys, what do they say ?).

on Eutelsat 21B (21e) I'm unable to scan in 11614 H 376 and 11617 V 27500 DVB-S2 ACM/VCM. I think 11614 doesn't work because the box doesn't support low symbol rates and 11617 doesn't work because its a multistream which the receiver doesn't yet know about, only Octagon can add this I think. Both of these TP's are on the western beam which I'm capable of picking up.

I recorded for the duration of 25 minutes One HD and I have no picture problem even after 20 minutes.
Audio also stays in sync with the image.HDOne.jpg

The problem isnt with recordings but with watching the channels live. I recorded the problem with my phone as you can see below, the picture is very intermittent but the signal from this channel is fine.

For frequency 11614 H 376, this is not possible.
Below SR 500 he can not read.
For the frequency 11617 V (at my home the blindscan found 11619) there is no problem.
just ask to do a search with multistream.21 ost.jpg

It's even more curious  because for my part I watched HD One for more than 50 minutes without any problem.

Are you sure it's HD One (because with subtitles in French?)

@mikeisyou

Assuming it's 11053 MHz I had a devil of a job to find a signal at all. At first the SX88+ just said no signal. I changed the sat feed over to my Octagon 4008 and it worked perfectly. Back to the SX88+, and eventually I got it to scan on that frequency after changing the LNB voltage through the cycle, 13/18, 0, 13, 18, back to 13/18.

Once scanned in it STILL said no signal, but again by going into the antenna menu and changing the voltages again I got it to work. At which point it was perfect, but something clearly isn't right as it's not always admitting there's a signal when clearly there is, as shown by the 4008. It's a freq specific problem here, 11082 MHz doesn't show the same problem.

Very odd.

Yep 11053 is correct, I've always had my LNB power set to 13V/18V which works fine. What LNB are you using?

just tuned away from 11053 MHz and then back, and having been working I now have "no signal" again. I think there must be some sort of bug here, but quite what....?

Quite possibly, sounds different to the problem I've been getting but could still be linked.

@stephan94 what is the signal like for you on 11569 H 7220?

Attached are my readings on 11569 H and 11617 V from Eutelsat 21e

The SX88/88+ seems far too bug laden.

When I get back from hol., I think the choice is narrowed down to the SX8 HD One (need more real-life reviews) and the Edision Primo (works without issue straight out of the box)

The LNB also has a very important role in receiving the signals.11569.jpg11619.jpg

There is still this problem of multistream scheduled recording, that's right.
If not what are the other bugs?
it is not because some people have difficulties with the receiver that necessarily the receiver to a bug.
in most problems, it is solved after understanding the proper operation of the receiver.
When someone says: I can not receive this frequency, we try to reproduce this difficulty and when it is confirmed
we share it with Octagon.
But when after trying several times, and this difficulty is not repeated, we must look for where can come this problem of SX88 in the person who poses this bug.

Thanks for your help, judging by your readings my dish isn't big enough to receive this transponder despite being able to pick up everything else.
