Is there an answer to sonnetpete's question, if the mast is plumb east/west-wise?
Or most effort to track the whole arc might be in vain....

yes
Very good! - looks like your settings are getting quite close to the "optimum" for your setup, and that is very encouraging since you have only just installed the dish and motor. :Y

OTOH, it would appear that that the issues are mainly to the West because your problems start "earlier" on that side than to the East - therefore it's likely that, when aimed at Thor at 0.8W, the motor is actually very slightly misaligned a very little bit to the East of where it should be, as that would favour" the signal levels on the Eastern sats to the detriment of the Western ones.

You should be looking to get the angular position of the furthest East satellite successfully received to be roughly the same one as that of the furthest West sat successfully received - thus I would aim to "equalise" the Astra 2 group at 28.2E with the Hispasat group at 30W.

Incase you haven't seen this, william-1's strongest transponder list is very useful:

I wouldn't worry about 15w for now, it's not as strong as 42e & 52e which you should aim for first.
Do you have a fixed dish on 28.2e? That would be good reference for comparing signal strengths there. You'll also need to work out if the dish is aiming too low or high for the further out satellites.

Got an alert email about receiving 30W but I can't see it here ATM! OTOH, if you can get the main channels on 30W (I generally look to see if the Parliamento channel "works" as that should be very strong). then you are getting close. Next "tweak" should therefore probably the declination setting as that is probably not quite right - try, very slightly, adjusting the dish mount on the motor stub (up and maybe then down) to see if that helps things, especially on 42E & 52E.

Will try to adjust declination next time when get time at the moment it’s in the middle.
that’s the only thing which I did not try also I need to work out
52 and 42 needs lifting up Or lowering down the dish to get signal
I also noticed that motor stub got a bit play where it is attached to the motor body is that normal
Motor stub has Two holes what are they for.
Now receiving every thing from 30 west till 28.2 east
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I found it very difficult to find the arc with 75 cm
because signal spots are very tight got most of the arc. Apart from 42 east
Got 52,28,23.5,19,13,7& 4.8 east
5,7,15,30 west
Did very thing I could but no sign of 42 east
I think it’s mission impossible to receive full arc. On 75 cm
Anybody done this with 75 cm
Think much easy with 1 meter
Any thoughts

You should also get 42E no problem. Plus 53E.

If you can pick up 7W, then picking up 42E shouldn't be a problem...
Can you help please and explain how I get 42 I get 7 W but if I nudge it once on 42 a bit up or down east or west I see no signal

42E should be a dead easy catch - OTOH 53E is probably hard on a 75cm dish.

I done it easily in the past but that was 3 meter dish
but on 75 cm it’s very challenging

I used to have 1 tp on 53E on an 80 absolutely no problem so it should be doable on a 75, probably with not much rain fade allowance admittedly.
