if you have to choose one between the Os mio 4K and the SF8008
which one would you take ?
I have explained their differences quite a few times:
Osmio is good for the average user which wants automated receptions, it auto blindscans PLS Multistreams, autofinds T2-MI, has no frozen image issue in zapping BUT it tunes a bit more slowly, has no internal HDD, cannot do very low SR (below 950), a little slower in general.
SF8008 is faster, tunes instantly, has very low SR, auto-finds T2-MI (not as efficiently as the OSmio) BUT cannot do PLS blindscan, has freezing image zapping (it's a HiSilicon chipset issue). If it could do PLS blindscan it would edge the OSmio imo.

OK so tweaked the dish a little and managed to get lock on all 3, strange thing is to achieve this, had to nudge the dish to somewhere near 13.4W! The previously unlocked frequencies (11546 & 11564) now come in at around 9.2dB, while the 3rd on 11647 drops slightly from 14.7dB to 13.5dB. I thought maybe there's interference from 15W or 12.5W, but doesn't seem to be anything on those that would interfere. Very strange!
According to Flysat, there are data carriers at 15W on 11539 V & 11563 V. That would quite likely cause SNR issues with the two Russian transmissions at 14W on 11544 V & 11564 V in certain places depending on the RX area, and vice versa.

Nice spot. Did exactly the same and now all three TPs are locked and tuning.

It's possible the data signals on 15W are interfering, but having just done a quick scan on 15W, the data signal at 11539V only comes in at 4.5dB, I wouldn't have thought thats strong enough to cause interference.

Does this 'Z' have a specific meaning? :confused
The Letter “V” represents the Russian Marines

The Letter “Z” represents units in the Eastern Military District

The Letter “Z” in a square represents the Southern Military District (Crimea)

The Letter “O” represents units from Belarus

The Letter “X” represents the forces of Ramzan Kadyrov, the Putin installed warlord of Russia’s Chechnya region.

The Letter “A” represents Russian Special Forces(SSO) like Spetznaz in its various operational units.

A nasty thought has just occurred to me on these, regarding them being reported as the Crimea versions.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re intended to be used to replace Ukraine’s DTT transmissions (which are also delivered to the transmitters by T2-MI over satellite), in areas captured by the Russian forces.

At least one medium wave transmitter in the east (810kHz) has apparently had its output of the Ukrainian Army FM station swapped for the Russian Vesti FM in the last few days as that’s happened.

It would also explain everything being FTA with no Gostcrypt, and the use of Ku Band rather than C Band (being able to use the existing equipment at Ukrainian TX sites).

14°W is probably the closest Russian sat to 9°E which Zeonbud Ukraine uses too.
