No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Near Pontop Pike, Co. Durham
(and then some PF100 to the router - but Virgin don't know that!)

Given that VM do self-install kits, it's only logical to throw the rubbish they supply in the bin and use quality stuff instead...:D

All the ip cams have started flashing, my download speed has dropped, from a throughput of 17mbps to 10mbps, all while the modem says its 21mbps.

I will have to wait until after 1pm as that's when it normally drops to 0.33mbps.

@Milamber @Lazarus do you still have the yogurt pots and that string?

While out in the garden I tried seeing how far down it I could get with my new (to me) Netgear router, turns out it reaches further than my old D-Link router, but that aside I saw my 4G signal was rather strong, so ran a speedtest on that, and, well, I'm happy with the results... :D

The highest I had standing almost next to the mast was 76Mbit download. Almost double the speed of my home connection...

Makes me wish I still had unlimited data on my phone account, especially when compared to the "fibre" internet I have:

Well, to be honest, what do you expect from a connection made from bran flakes!

It does, apparently, sticking the 1 to the 0 can cause serious data errors, I would imagine:D

Well, I guess using 2s to stick 1s and 0s can be problematic... :-rofl2

Staying at my Mum's till Tuesday and just tested her broadband with this result :

She has a problem with Skype being really slow, which I suspect is due to the upload speed being .37mbs. any ideas if I'm correct?

Langley Park is semi rural I suppose, though it's a reasonably sized village. ~She's been having problems for a few weeks now, though we made a test call from SWMBO's I Pad to Mum's netbook......it seemed to be quite swift albeit I was standing in the bedroom and they were in the kitchen.....

Recommended speeds for Skype are here

And I suspect that confirms your suspicion about the Upload Speed.

Seems fast enough for an audio only connection but probably a bit choppy if you're doing video as well.

Sometimes shows Zero ms when I use Ookla .... I suspect it's a glitch ....

Anyhow, the more striking news is that Chris is being well served by Cowes.
