Mt ten year old Humax foxsatHD has a ethernet connection on the back of the set, it says in the manual that its ..."FOR FUTURE USE"...well...we are in the future now so can anyone tell me what its for please and what would happen if I connected it to the internet. thanks for any help.

I have a 10 year old Humax foxsat, I bought it originally in 2005 as I have a Samsung 720p tv, and the foxsat upscaling improved the picture quality immensely.....BUT.....from new the box seemed to have a slight problem receiving a signal from specific remote buttons, such as a very poor "OK"...

Wow, I didnt know that, I disconnect the Humax Foxsat and TV every night, always have done, I am 56 and from the scrimp generation and just cant sleep knowing summits plugged in on stanby even though its usually freezers that burst into flames at night. I always disconnect the PC at night too...

I couldnt find any of the settings mentioned above on the receiver or how to access them prior to running a manual scan , so rather than mess with something I know little about I ran a Freesat Auto-scan instead and all the HD channels are back again so alls fine now. thanks for all the help. I...
