Yes.

It shouldn't actually matter as it shouldn't be related unless the box (or LN:cool: is faulty, but there's nothing to be lost by trying.

Lol: I thought I'd made a typo, but typing B followed by ) creates a smiley!

Could the LNB be faulty? If all the frequencies are out it's going to struggle to tune them in with a network (NIT) search which should normally bring in every channel.

Yes, it could. Or the box.

Can't think of any other reason why there should be a consistent 30MHz error, given that the settings seem fine.

Thinking about this frequency issue, TV 5 Monde France is on 11934V which is on the high band of the LNB and is working whereas the radio stations we're looking for are on the low band and are not scanning in. It sounds like the LNB isn't working properly in the low band.

Edit: (or the box, as you say)

I wonder -can we use the lnb assumed error and just tune 30Mhz low

Hilary try setting a new freuency up in manual scan - 11538V 22000 5/6

I wonder if a fix to create custom LNB settings of 9780 and 10630 might work? (Or should that be 9720 and 10570 ? My brain hurts!)

That should surmount the Low/High Band switching possibly being why the desired TP is being missed.

I am now scanning with the 12V on using an auto scan. If the LNB was faulty would that not mean that my TV list was poor? 645 odd stations sounds quite a few even if 643 are total c**p or encrypted or God or mature content or german or polish or shopping or no signal.

It's the Local Oscillator in the LNB that could be faulty, not the RF circuitry.

But remember the upper band seems OK so I would leave that as 10600.

Yes, I think you're right >> Dodgy Low Band LO.

I think we're all coming to the view that the LNB is the issue. For us that's a cheap, simple swop, but perhaps we need more certainty before suggesting our friend changes it?

Edit: Actually, from the list of Radios we were given, the High Band ones are also reported 30MHz low. Maybe TV5 comes in right on the cusp of error?

(Proven wrong: Time for some Vin Blanc!)

Anyhow, hilaryanne sure has given us a poser!

But deep in the recesses of memory I am sure a similar issue came up two or three years back. Can't for the life of me recall the outcome. Where is Huevos when you need him?

Time for Dinner and some Family time now.

ROCK ANTENNE 12148H 27500 is OK
DKULTURE 11953H 27500 is OK

Both high band with TV5 Monde France on 11934V

RADIOS ESP ASTRA 10818V Should be 10847V (+29MHz)
Radio Beogra 10987H 21992 Should be 11023H (+36MHz)
CANAL SUR RA 11038V 22000 Should be 11068V (+30MHz)
Radio Maryja 11156V 22000 Should be 11186V (+30MHz)
RadioCh 11656V 22000 Should be 11686V (+30MHz)

All low and offset by about 30MHz.

I think the easiest thing is to change the Low LO by 30 (just not sure which way?!) and rescan Astra 1 using the NIT scan and see if that bring in the bottom frequencies.

If that works it might only be a temporary solution if the LNB's LO is failing or varying as it warms up or something.

OK if you'd like to give this a go we can see if this will bring in your radio stations again (for how long I'm not sure but it'll give us an idea on what is going on).

1. Please go back to the Antenna Settings menu and choose the Astra 1 satellite or whatever it was you have been using (but not Astra 3A).

2. Make sure the LNB Type is set to UNIVERSAL.

3. Change the "LNB Freq. - Low Freq. MHz" from 9750 to 9780 (use the remote number keys to enter the number).

4. LNB Freq. - High Freq. MHz should be already set to 10600. Leave the other settings as they where before.

5. Once the above are OK enter the Automatic Search Menu by pressing the Red (TTX) key.

6. When in Automatic search, select the same Astra 1 satellite name we just edited above.

7. Press the blue key to bring up the sub-menu and set NIT to ON.

8. Press OK to start the search and cross your fingers.

9. Let us know what happened and maybe list a few stations and the frequencies again for us to check.

Brilliantly clear instructions thank you Timo
I am waiting for outcome but wonder should I have deleted all the stations again before starting.

Well, it may have left a few "dud" entries but let's see if you get some extra proper working stations too, then you can go and delete and start again if you wish.
