oh. OK lets try a manual scan using these parameters

you may not need the first couple depending on your receiver

DVB
QPSK
11568
vertical
22000
5/6

The channel is definitely there - Ive just put it on:

(Ignore the fec 4/5 on the screengrab - its 5/6, theres a glitch on the software Im using on the receiver!)

The nomenclature can be confusing, but generally Auto Scan and Blind Scan are the same thing and the scan works by trawling through the entire band in small steps, thus hoping to identify anything that's there. It can, however, still miss stuff. The scan will add to the stored list (if any) or create one from scratch.

A Manual scan involves looking at one, some or all of the pre-existing Transponders in the stored list.

And the Network scan picks up comprehensive data from a live Transponder that tells the box what other Transponders are used by the relevant Network and updates the stored list accordingly.

Finally, yes, scan one list only: In fact, just Edit the name to something like "19E" for easy reference.

Thank you Tivu. I now have 625 TV stations by this method and a disappointing 22 radio stations. None of the radio stations are France Culture or indeed anything of the slightest interest. I am sure I could get many more before and this time I deleted all the channels before I started and did the blind scan just for a change. Should I finally give up? There should be a scan which does not pick up all the blocked stations.

Well now: They are indeed Astra 1 Radios, but the reported frequencies are all 30 MHz lower than they should be.

I shall try to consider what the relevance of that might be, but it suggests an issue with Antenna Setup (LNB parameters etc), even though we thought they looked ok.

Also, the Transponder carrying the desired Channel is on the borderline between Low Band and High Band, so the 30 MHz error might be causing that TP not to be "seen" in the correct Band.

Can you please re-Post your LNB settings?

I think we are homing in now - If it's not a Box setting, it could be that your LNB is faulty.

I think your LNB settings are wrong, those lower frequencies don't correspond to where the radio stations are in reality.

Edit: Too slow...

oh. OK lets try a manual scan using these parameters

When I go to manual search rather than

DVB
QPSK
11568
vertical
22000
5/6

I can see Satellite Name
Transponder 50
Frequency 11934 (not sure how I would change this)
Symbol Rate 27500 (ditto)
Polarization VER
Search Type All
NIT Search On

then along the bottom red button LNB settings (what does LNB stand for) green button Delete TP yellow button Set PID (what is PID) [INFO] Signal [OK] Start Scan blue button start scan

I presume I am not looking in the right place please help

Chances are I'll be beaten by someone else again... The LNB is the electronics stuck on the end of the dish. You need to make sure your LNB settings are set to UNIVERSAL in the Antenna Settings section. The Low Freq should be 9750 and the high freq should be 10600.

I've just trawled back to your LNB settings that you Posted a few pages back: Can you try turning Off the 0/12v toggle?

I thought it did not matter about the 19E?? as long as it was Astra .....
There are lots of different Astra satellites in different parts of the sky. The ones you need are located at 19.2E but I don't know what your receiver will call them these days. The name itself is irrelevant but ideally you should make sure you choose the right one from its internal database.

There are 3 Astra clusters!

Astra 1 19E - the one you want
Astra 2 28E - the UK's "Sky & Freesat" cluster
Astra 3 23.5E - mainly for Holland & eastern Europe

the frequency information though are just data tables held inside the receiver - it doesnt really matter what the label on the receiver says

One thing is certain, it's not Astra 3A as that has never been at 19.2E.

That differs in one respect from what you Posted before (I just found it!), in that you haven't said whether 0/12v is On or Off.

Before, it was On.

It should not actually matter, but it won't hurt to turn it to Off, then scan again.

(It's actually for switching an external device, but please ignore that for now)

So 0/12 toggle gives me 12V or 0V I think it was on 0V so now it is on 12 V. Do I need to start new scan now?
