Use m8x60 coach bolts, a2 stainless is best as it wont rust and stain the dish face. you can use nyloc nuts or nut plus spring washer, i think i bought mine from screwfix. Eb*y is a good place to look as well.

Many thanks, I'll give our driver a shopping list.

What's the spec on the cable ill need to connect the motor to the positioner?

I'm not going to use the superjack @ the moment but depending on price I'm wondering if I should run the cable to do both. I'm looking at about 30 mtrs.

4 core for the motor. I've not even checked the jack, is it 2 core?

They are both 4 core as both work on the same principle. Two for DC supply for the motor and two for the reed sensor (pulse counter). I ran an 8-core alarm cable which does the job but I would be happier with a beefier cable. Perhaps run 2x 8-core alarm cables and double up the wires.

Ok, thanks for that. I might just run the one cable now and worry about the jack again.

I've got the 3" galv post sorted now, I think it's an old traffic light post lol. It was ok for a fiver from the scrap yard, it's about 7ft.

One thing that puzzles me is how to set the motor up. Have I got the EL version?
I was gonna set it up without the jack to start, I plan on taking this off, I'm guessing I have to swap brackets/plates around?

Setting the 1224 is quite easy, the dish just bolts to the adapter plate, which attaches to the motor using the supplied brackets.
Setting it up on the pole is even easier, as it has a lip that sits on top of the pole.

So it's just a case of removing the pin with the circlips in the end and replacing it wit a bolt.

Looks like I'm missing the threaded bar and brackets to connect the dish to the bracket on the pole......

Can you please upload some more pictures, of your motor, as the ones you've attached seem to be upside down and zoomed in too close, to see everything.
When the jack is attached you don't need the bolt, as this would stop your jack from tilting the dish.

Heres some more photos.

I don't plan on using the jack to start with, I was going to remove it.

The seller might still have the screw thread, and parts, he just didn't need them as he was using the jack, you might want to contact him. You could still attach the jack, as a support, but not wire it up.

The seller removed it from a building in Manchester, I took all the bits he had.

I'm sure I'll sort something out.

Thanks
