I have just tried 11347V 22000 DVB-S2, 11362H 22000 DVB-S2 and 11229V 22000 and all I get is 45% Strength 20% quality.............

Exactly like 16e......

You know what I am thinking now............I have wasted time trying to find a signal the meter was never going to get.

I think that model is DVB-S only? If so DVB-S2 transponders won't lock, a quick look on Lyngsat suggests most 16°E TPs are S2. 12699 H 9880 is listed as DVB-S, it's not as strong as others but I'm receiving it with the zone 2.
I am going to take a portable TV and my sat box out and do it the manual way.

I owe you a big thank you for spotting that. I was considering calling a professional out.

The best way is that one:

If that’s your dish farm I like how you have mounted that in a bucket.

If I can get a signal my next step will be working out how to mount it. The tripod mount is ready to collapse, the dish is a bit too heavy for it. I tried to mount a minidish to a paving slab a few years back, it didn’t go well.

I set my old motorised system up using a TV out in the garden. Sometimes meters can get complicated.

I reckon I can squeeze a bit more quality out of that as I literally nudged the dish from Astra 1, moved the LNB a bit, adjusted the elevation and tightened it up.

The next thing is mounting it safely. It will take off in the wind on the camping tripod.

I have attempted to mount a patio mount to a paving slab in the past and it didn't go particularly well! I think the holes were too big and to counteract it, I tried to concrete in the coach bolts which didn't set.

Is there a certain coach bolt I need? I have a spare 600x600 slab.

I use M8 coach screws with a plastic plug. IIRC the hole was 10mm diameter - the plug or its packaging will state the correct size drill.

I've used M8 coach screws too, with some bog standard grey 10mm wall plugs.

I used to have a couple of patio mounts each attached to a couple of those solid grey breeze blocks where I used to live using them. They sat in the garden with no problem at all for the four years I was there. Each had an 80cm dish on it.

Satlink WS6906.
Have one. They’re useless. You can’t read the screen properly in daylight and they only support DVBS not DVBS2.

As suggested hook everything up to a proper receiver and get a mate to help you position the dish for 16e.

Yeah sending it back. Not worth a penny more than £30.

I have ordered a galvanised 1m patio mount.

As soon as it comes i'll set about mounting it.
