Thanks, and I had completely forgotten that C-band dishes use larger mesh sizes as well.

They are also made to a less rigorous accuracy for the curvature which is why a solid C band dish is not as good on Ku band as a proper Ku band dish.

C-band still the first choice at many countries in south America and south east Asia and Africa
whereas in Europe almost forgotten it.

Quick motor test see how easy it moves the dish moves it with ease, quiet considering what's on the end of the motor.

If didn't work video on site just download it. it works on PC.
it move the big dish with heavy polar easily, considering vertical position for dish where weight is focus to down and it affect the efficiency of the motor

Its always wise to counter balance makes life easier on the motor, its worked like this for the past 20yrs so I don't have any major concerns,

In the near future I need to modify the H to H to add declination, I will look into counter balance when I do the declination modification :)

Managed to find 0.8W, dish is very sensitive as expected, weak signal but locked, can start fine tuning now

Found time to look at this today, its modified for KU, will do KU tests with this and note signal levels, the gentlemen is a boffin, the design might take some beating

Unsure how old the Triax lnb is that's on the dish, so making a newer one, will line dish up with this then try a precision feedhorn.

You will be getting some very nice catches in C Band with this dish, pics to follow soon?

Rgds

I hope so moonbase time will tell, still trying to line dish up its very sensitive, weathers not helping every time I take a tv outside it rains, raining today so just knocked something up for C band,

Expensive feedhorns on hold for the time being, I'm just having to pay an unexpected car repair bill,

In the mean time ive sent for a Invacom C120 ADF-120 Adjustable Feedhorn, I went for Inverto Lnb rather than Invacom, unsure whats best in the two but ive read good results about the Inverto, should be with me this week, will give it a test against the homebrew ones,

Occasionally locking the Mena beam at 3W NWA beam at 7W comes in strong after only a quick line up so should room for improvement.

Repair to Italian sports cars are not cheap :)

I have one of those they are OK, I use it with an Invacom C120 dual output LNB on a Unicorn spun aluminium prime focus dish, seems to work well. Depending on what type of clamp you use for the ADF collar you may get restricted movement of the scalar along the outer screw thread, The narrower the clamp the more range of movement you have with the scalar.

1.2 VS 2.4, 1.2 is on the left, think I'm a bit out of line with the 2.4:-lol

Morning moonbase, I am thinking of getting something like this and adapting it, maybe weld some threaded rod to it, will measure the feedhorn barrel when it arrives and order one.

blademedia,

I just checked out the satellite kit I had put in the loft and the dual band servo feed I have is actually a triple band feed with servo on two bands. It is a Chaparral C/Ku/S band feed with the servo operational on the C/Ku ports. As I indicated earlier, you are welcome to borrow it if you wish, its in the original box and easy to post. No worries if you dont need it, it looks like you are fabricating something to get you started for now.
