Recently the modulation of the Tricolor package has been changed from 8PSK to QPSK-S2, consequently gain needed for lock split almost in half.
Despite linear feedhorn/LNB I still get enough to lock this single frequency (12.149 LH).

Indeed, I also checked with IBU linear lnb with 1.10m antenna.
The strongest signal is right on 12149 V, over 15dB with lnb linear.
Here is how the signal looks on the other muxes with linear lnb(1.10m dish) and circular lnb(T90).
Such a mode helps to lock the signal.

Some frequencies of Circular Polarization of the Tricolor with a classic Lnb can be reached again.

I am from Italy and was in South Africa and I bought the DStv decoder with 3 months subscription but Sadly I couldn't lock the DStv signals in Rome. Even with 1.20 cm

you must use a dish of at least 180-220 cm

Anyone else succes in receiving these circular signals further west?
What's the easiest frequency to lock?
I see Express AMU1 is at 36.1°E and Eutelsat 36B at 35.9°C.
Since I have received nothing from AMU1 yet I have to focus my 1.8m dish at Eutelsat 36B, but I guess I have to turn it a little bit to the east to receive AMU1.
I use a circular LNB.

@nelson_b received a few Russian transponders in the past on his 1.8m and 2.4m - in North West UK.

Can you see any signal from the Russian beam at your location? I suspect some South African transponders, which share frequencies, might be more of an issue there.
