There is any difference between Ku band and C in the shape of the dish because after several test with a televes old dish 1.8m and a Famaval there is better results with famaval on 40.5W.

Imn thinking that its due to the deepest of the famaval and maybe is one for ku and the other for C. its possible?

No, there is no difference in the shape of the dish between Ku and C band. Both are parabolic, and focus the captured signal into the LNB. If one is better than another it is most likely that you are using an LNB that is not matched to the dish, or the dish is bent.

There are differences, but they will be in the main limited to cassegrain and gregorian sub-reflector dimensions ( there is a minimum size ratio owing to the larger wavelength of the transmission) , the capability of the feed supports to handle the increased weight of the LNB (plus the change of angle to cope with the larger aperture dimension) and of course the feed scalar itself if one is used.

You my find a deeper dish is better at rejecting background noise from sources that can mix with the incoming on beam signal you are trying to receive, though this will be a localised issue.

As you probably know, i have recently been experimenting with CBAND

im starting honing my "skills" on 40.5w - an "easy" catch apparently, well not strictly true, it takes a great deal of time and tweaking to get results.

what i have noticed is that depending on position of the LNB and scalar hood, and dielctic plate, i seem to pull in different TP's and channels.

lets take ESPN\FOX SPORTS2 - where i have spent time optimising my setup to get this TP at a good level, but what i've noticed is that when setup for this, i miss out on other TP's like AMC Brazil at 3723 R - however, at various stages of my experimenting i have pulled this in, so is it just a case that when you dont have a large dish you have to tune to the TP \ channel that you want or am i just a fraction of a turn of the LNB out? its seems to me you can have one or the other, not both.

ive also noticed, a nudge of the dish might start breakup on one channel on the same sat, but make another stronger. very odd this c-band lark.

thanks all!

Ooops - Just remembered that your using a dual probe lnbf on your dish and not a single probe - disregard what i said previous at the moment

Check out some of my previous posts in the C-Band section where I posted the feed/scalar pair tables.
It illustrates the point you are making that different fequencies per satellite may sometimes have different feed/scalar pair settings for maximum signal with small dishes.

Your point about 40.5W might be better if it was placed in the 40.5W C-Band topic, link below?

If you wish it to be moved into the 40.5W topic I am sure a mod/admin will do it for you if you request?
Most of the C-Band satellites visible to the UK have their own dedicated topic in the C-Band section.

Check Flysat and Lyngsat frequency listings for the satellite and the Flysat beam coverage maps.

Done a quick scan on Ku , all data - Didn't look at Cband.
There is occasionally a feed on 11339 H as well.
