That transponder used to come in quite well here in the Midlands, gone weak now. Screenshot_20230305-094934_Finder.jpg

Off all the fairly cheap speccies this is the best one I have used..You can bluetooth it to a phone for setting up or a tablet. I don't think the on screen cursor works above andriod 9 though..Moonbase will confirm that..

Actually it was my Chinese tablet that had the issue with the finger slide movement of the cursor rather than the Android version. The Dr HD Finder app runs perfect on all other Android mobile devices I have tried.
It is not a big issue as you can still tap the screen to move the cursor bar along the spectrrum, it is just the finger sliding of it that is the issue and that is only on a cheap Chinese tablet.

According to Lyngsat 11262 H, 11304 H, 11324 V, 11345 H and 11387 H are also on Europe B beam of Eutelsat 7B.
11262 H should be easier to catch, just 4.4 dB C/N for a lock, instead of 5.5 dB, because of the FEC of 2/3 (instead of 3/4).
Still the signal here is 0.75 dB weaker.
11304 H is only 0.5 dB weaker.

By the way, the footprint shown on Satbeams is a bit more positive for the UK (Southeast).

Wow the drop off must be like the cliffs of Dover.

Yep agreed CJ and the more you come up country in the UK from the South into the Midlands where i am the signal gets very thin , the further North you go it's even worse.
For us in the UK there is a little trick to help to get lock with this particular low level frequency, which also suffers from lock loss from the very strong signal on 10.722 Ver as well, and that is our old friend Skew.
In the two side by side analyser grabs, by moving the lnb Skew just one or so degrees lowers the strong problem Ver signal cross pol problem in the lnb sufficiently to let the wanted Hor sig to get through.
On my lashed up experimental lnb changer on my 2.2m PF and from my stash of bits and bobs iv'e lashed up a servo motor to give me motorised Skew and this is working out very well for use on the 2.2m PF.
A few lash up pics.....

I should perhaps point out also that Ku use on my 2.2mtr install is for weak DX signal spotting and not for looking at strong broadcast signals on Co Channel Hor / Ver positions as that would just be asking for trouble - i would normally nudge the dish slightly off beam in this case OR use my 1.2m Ku band CM install.

For those trying to get this beam, remember that many Eutelsat craft have a skew +3.535 deg relative to most others. Hence, if you set your skew on Astra, for example, you're unlikely to get 10720H on 7E.

The attached list is a few years old but still valid (Calculation of Azimuth, Elevation and Polarization for non-horizontal aligned Antennas Algorithm Description Technical Document TD-1205-a Version 3.0 11.02.2019). If anyone knows of a later version, it would be very useful.

Just about rousing the siggy meter here..

If possible at the lnb, looking into the dish, rotate the lnb / lnbf a knats knacker to the right , clockwise, to get rid of that small signal iv'e highlighted in red. At my end it usually gets up to around 14 to 16% on the Combo GTX before it will lock and if it locks then you will get a reading of between 35% or higher depending. Can be better when trying later in the day or evening.

I've tried that dear, I got absolutely zilch until I tweaked it. I will try a direct (not through the multi switch) LNB next week to see if we get anything better. A late taste of summer next week they say..

No that's the 1.8! It must really drop off the further west. We had a similar thing with TV1000 a few years back if you remember?
