Don't be disappointed yet... this is just an empty transponder, no channels.

calm down, calm down, its just testing ... could still be your boxes need proper SIDs or they have problems detecting 8PSK (someone in another forum still insists it is QPSK whilst is definitly is 8PSK - maybe his box says wrongly so, maybe try QPSK setting in your boxes?)

3 boxes can't be wrong my friend, V polarized signal simply is not reaching my area, let's wait until some H ones fire up, though I do not expect much after what I've already experienced.

yes they can ... btw they were all HD boxes? Just wait when regular programming starts, but I assume you still get Channel 4 SD as it is on a H Polarisation? HD is not even as good as good ole analogue was, so no loss really ...

The NIT and PAT are wrong !

PAT Version Number: 18
Transport Stream ID: 2068 (0x0814)
NIT: 28.2E 11.127 GHz Vertical 22000 2/3 QPSK, DVB-S2 (a=.35)

PMT PID 256 (0x0100) - Program 21200

it however is 8PSK. They are broadcasting wrong information.

also wrong in the NIT:

Network Name: ASTRA
Network ID: 32 (0x0020)
Transport Stream ID: 2068 (0x0814)
Original Network ID: 2 (0x0002) Version: 3
Descriptor: Network Name Descriptor
DVB-S Orbital Position: 28.2E
Frequency: 11.127 GHz
Modulation: QPSK, DVB-S2 (a=.35)
Polarity: Vertical
Symbol Rate: 22000 MSps
FEC: 2/3
Current Network: True

Software is crazyscan.

Yes, all HD boxes: BushHD Freesat, Kathrein UFS910 and Topfield TF7700. I even still get C4HD from Freesat - ch126.[h=1][/h]

No need for a 1.8m dish. That signal is robust on the Fibo 90.

Just tuned 4HD in on my humax with the fixed zone 1 sky,
100% signal
100% Quality
That's a 1st for me on my set up!!
Getting just 80% on the EB1 channel, might be setting up the wet string tomorrow to see what I get on that dangling out the window :-)

I don't know it. The TBS 6925 seems to be the forum baby at the minute. Llew and VS have one and seem really pleased with it.

Well if the Astra 2D channels do migrate to this new satellite there will be a lot of rebroadcast companies without any customers.

After these tests i'd say SES can decommission 2D if they want moving everything to Astra 1N and postpone indefinitely the new Astra 2 satellites:)
This regarding spain, maybe other areas get less signal from 1N than they get from 2D

On my DM800HD this channel hasnt got a proper C4HD name label

The signal is huge on 11.127V - My Dreambox in Staffordshire is reporting 100% SNR (16-odd d:cool: on a zone 1 minidish going through a DiSEqC switch. 'Normal' Astra 1 and Astra 2 signals usually only reach that level of signal using my 80cm dish!

That's because the channel is not labelled at all yet.

Keep in mind these are only first tests - hence the noname ID - signal strength and illumination zone can shrink significant before regular services start. So don't be too enthusiastic too early ...

And if SES would fullfill your wish and decommission 2D - what would remain of the "additional narrow band space" if any??? So be careful what you wish for ;-)

signed up just to report i don't see any of the 1N frequencies over here (SE Romania)
never saw 2D either with my setup so it's not so much of a surprise actually :)
here you need 2.5m+ for 2D anyway.....

i have a feeling they're going to move as much as possible to the spot beam, leaving probably sky sports for a wider audience since it's (still) a good revenue source from british expats overseas. Imagine british pubs in costa brava showing footy on german tv with german commentary thrown in for kicks :D

These reports seem to suggest it is indeed a spot beam
