This morning there is nothing from 28e on my 1.8m dish. Has the inevitable finally happened?

Mod note: Geoffrey actually meant his 2.4m dish.

Oooh Pooh sticks. Something has happened overnight to Astra 2A. Only got back to Helsinki last night so managed to watch Sky for a few hours before the big switch off...

I'm guessing they've gone to the 2E or 2F Europe beam. Certainly nothing lockable in the old 2A transponder range now here in Helsinki on my 80cm (most signals are about 1-2dB ). Will check the 1.8m dish at my parent's house later, but that should be OK but with signal levels down a bit from before the move.

There is but you only get a certain amount of time before the post is locked for editing (1 hour, I believe).

Oh dear... Is that the end of Sky for you in Helsinki?

Here's this morning's view of 28E with my 85cm dish...

Only Eutelsat 28A left (for decent 24 hour reception) for the time being.

Still hanging on to Eutelsat 28A. ;) Oh and a few hours of a couple of lower frequency 2E Europe transponders. So as long as I have some kind of signal to lock on to I can still use on demand.

Just realised this thread was in the Freesat forum so moved it over to the fringe forum considering the topic.

Watching fascinating fighter stuff on Forces 12304H. Signal changed but still very strong, Q down from usual 96% to 91% on the receiver gauge.

Yep, formerly weak 2A north beam transponders coming in strong now. Interesting that Sky haven't switched their transponders to UK beam (as many suggest possible, but no actual proof).

Here's the this evening's view from the 1.8m in Helsinki. All ex-2A transponders are lockable but the higher frequencies are getting a little close to the edge. This was taken when signals from 2E tend to be near the weakest during the day (stronger time are in the morning and late night).
