SES would want to balance loading against what they perceive as required redundancy alongside 2A's useful life. Maybe now they've taken the decision that 2A is at the point whereby it's reliability is compromised so reducing it's TP loading down is the best compromise whilst it can be retained as backup either at 28 or 23.5E.Why did the full switch from 2A to 2E take over a year? Wouldn't Sky want to use the higher powered 2E as soon as it became operational?
Once 2G is in use I definitely think, as Timo says, that it may be used more for it's UK spot. I also wonder whether some of the 2E 'D' band TP's might be offloaded to 2G to balance up loading across the three birds? Sky may be keen to put some of their TP's on to the PE antenna of 2G too to keep the expats happy if it's got better Eastern Mediterranean coverage, for yet we don't really know.
June/July could prove to be interesting to see what ends up where.
