Astra 2D in Slovakia

Through a local facebook page in Gran Canaria I have been soliciting reception reports for the ITV1 transmissions on 1N. So far we have established at 2.4 Channel Master/Andrews can bring it in (2 reports) and that 1m and 1.2m dishes can not.

I just wanted to give you an update.

On arrival back to slovakia i had left by box on standby.

When i turned on the box i had left it set to 103.

I also as the post above have a clear picture on the itv anglia W.

I didnt add this to the box in other channles like others.

This is the main one that was always on channel 103.

Im picking it up crystal clear on a 105cm offset dish.

As glad as I am this all happend on one of the cards that came with the box.

I have just bought an FSFS card brand new from sky registered to my parents.

Good side is at least its mine, and i will have regional news.

Howevre BBC1 or C4 or anything lije that is a

"there is a technical error with this channel please try later"

So I assume this is now confirmed a larger dish is required.

Looks as tho it may be good for ex-pats then.

I now have 3 sky cards lol.

I shud keep the one i bought in use in the box at all times now yes?

Should recieve my update easier also now that i have itv being recieved.

Glad to hear you got your card(s) sorted!

The Channel 5 channels are now on 1N except for one region and the HD version. So if you can get 5* or 5 USA then you can get 1N.

ITV are also testing on 11053 H (SR 22000 - FEC 5/6) if you want to try tuning it in the other channels.

As timo says - the most important question is can you get 5USA / 5*. If you can see them you can get Astra 1N uk beam.

then-

"No satellite signal is being recieved"


This is strange, i thought now having itv w that i was on the 1N signal????

I think i have really saprked an interest in all this stuff now.

If i use "11053 H (SR 22000 - FEC 5/6) if you want to try tuning it in the other channels".

Will i undo anything with the current running of my new FSFS card, ie local news etc.

Hmm, doesn't sound good for you I'm afraid.

You can add more channels using the "add channels" option and it'll just add them to the end of the "other channels" list. Your card region is set by Sky and cannot be changed without talking to Sky no matter what you press on your remote.

Your current ITV1 region is coming from 12402 V Astra 2B North

Umm - not good. Because if you cant get 1N you will lose ITV in the near future when the remaining ITV frequency (12402V) is moved over to 1N.

you seem very knowledgeable, i didnt realise it was 2b i was getting.

i need to make sure i am at 28.2 degrees east of south yes?

I saw someone said astra 2d is actually 28.16 degrees is this correct, is so do i need to relign also.

The satellites are close enough in space to be effectively "co-located" so dont try re-aligning the dish. A few tenths of a degree difference doesnt make any difference

Manually trying to tune 11053H wont help as theres no 1N signal in your location on your dish size.

11053 H was just the ITV test channels which are not yet on the EPG, if you wanted to see if you could get them, but I doubt you can if you can't get the 5*/5USA channels.

All the Astra satellites at 28.2E move somewhat as they float about in space, but your dish will see them as one satellite because they are so far away and the dish has a beamwidth of a couple of degrees either side of the centre.

We are good, but thats asking a bit too much atm!

We just dont know at the moment - remember 1N has only been in proper service less than a week, and reports are still few and far between.

In a few weeks time we will have more reports and might have a better idea of whats possible in fringe areas..

I had no idea 1N was only active a week, im new to all this.

I am surprised that i have itv1 on the atra 2b satellite all of a sudden, i never had it beforer, im confused.

Any ways when you wrote-

I decided to try that setting and got the results below-

Never new there was an itv1+1???

Its the Sky card you have in the receiver which is mapping the itv regions - and as the 12402V ones are encrypted its decrypting them.

ITV1 +1 launched 18 months ago.
