Astra 2F: Canaries & Africa Discussion

If you google kingofsat yhey have an Astra1N, 2A, 2B etc page which will give you an idea of what is/was where. There are some anomalies such as Eurosport 2 SD which everyone says was on a North beam but I could pick it up on a 1.2m in Fuerteventura.

Provided, of course, that it's accurate.

We've already had reference to Flysat today where all the recent moves are shown as being to 1N - but that isn't corroborated by a wider selection of reports.

These sites are cooperative rather than authoritative: Really useful, but sometimes not 100% correct, relying as they do upon observations by interested contributors.

For those like me whose principal concern in this debacle is the loss of F1, there may be some hope. Sky are running an article on their site saying F1 will move to 406 and 439 on Feb 4th. I'm keeping fingers crossed that one or both may change satellites on that day as well.

EPG changes are just a change in the data stream mappings for the boxes, they rarely involve frequency changes for the channels involved.

We've never not had these in Fuerteventura. Can only surmise they've been put on 2F if you were'nt getting them before.

Ok we have a new map to populate - lets see what the new beam is looking like.

To begin with we will start with Sky News SD on Sky EPG 501, Freesat epg 202 & frequency 12207V 27500 2/3

Cartoonito or Fox SD Sky UK epgs 619 & 188 (12110H 27500 2/3)

As before we want positive & negative reports, dish sizes receiver &and lnb info

Your location is vital for this - the nearest town to you

An idea of the reception would be very useful - for example

no problems, good signal 24/7
no signal since the move
poor in the evening good in the morning

For me the Sky news are the opposite, ie 501 SD. I can receive all the others.
