Those countries are nowhere near West Africa. Closest is CAR at 4.3N and 18.5E. That's further away than the current WAB. So is it a pan Africa beam stretching from Senegal all the way to Rwanda (at 2.0S, 30.0E)? If so that is a huge area to spead out the power of a 105W transponder and hardly likely to cause much inference in Tenerife.

I PREDICT UK AND WAB CHANNELS UP AND RUNNING THE SAME WEEK

I doubt it.

Also, SES currently carries 60 channels to Africa, so to significantly increase that they only need to open 3 or 4 transponders. Hardly likely that will wipe out all UK PSB.

Tenerife is twice as far from the UK than southern Spain, and 16ºW of the prime meridian.

Argh. So West Africa beam is on 5E, and Central Africa beam is on 28E. Is that correct. If so that beam will be well out of reach of Tenerife at more than 3000km.

No - its been long expected. No doubt just waiting for the encryption contract to expire.
