Nothing to do with thinking or guessing.. ..my screenshot shows 12421H is a little stronger than 12207V whereas @Satecos's image shows a much weaker signal on 12421H. I'm in the footprint of the spot, he isn't.
QED
I wasn't talking about that.

11357V is exactly the same story. You can't tell whether the transponder is transmitting with -10dB or that the signal is coming from the spot beam. Again, I'm in the footprint of both beams. If @solly receives this signal, it can't possibly be on the spot beam ;)

Solly is using a 3.8 metre dish. If the satellite, due to its current location, is pointing 15º further east than it will be when it reaches its final location I'm sure Solly would be able to receive it.

By the way what signal level are you receiving from 11357V?

@BlindFaith,
I think it could be spot beam , but I think-12423- just as well be pan -Euro beam 1 and 12206 could be pan-euro beam 2 as on the Astra 1N!
It's strange that UK spot-beam, at least with the antenna of 1.1 ,do not enter. Now 12323 V has entered with strong signal.I should use my big antenna for testing on Astra 2F but now I need it on another position ...

You don't listen. I'm inside the spotbeam. A 30cm dish would be big enough to receive dvb. My tests are performed with 120cm. From my location I see a weak signal on 11357V. Solly's shot shows more or less a similar evelope relation between 11357V and 12207V. Another possibility would be the african beam, but I don't believe that I can get a readable constellation diagram from the african beam ;)

Solly, also tests on 10754V again. Very weak.

are you sure that that's a testing transponder that they are using?

I am getting that transponder on my (SD) receiver here at around 7.7 dB... it has some SD ITV1 regional programmes and ITV2 on it... its channel list is exactly the same as that of the "neighbouring" transponder 10758V. :confused

Like Solly says, can anyone else receive this? It is still active currently.

These test signals are from 43E. You are looking at 28E.

Yes I do. But the satellite is 15º further east than it will be once it is at 28E. If the beam is pointing 15º further east you would still be well within the beam. But Solly and Satesco would pick up a significant amount of signal.

That Satesco and Solly receive this at all shows the satellite is pointing much further east than it will be when it arrives at final location.

Llew, any chance you can post a scan of 28E so I can see how the power of 1N spot beam compares to PE beam on that satellite.

said 4 carriers and their corrsponding RF levels (TBS5925)

11356V -52,7dB
12207V -44,3dB
12324V -45,6dB
12421H -43,0dB

11357V is about -10dB in relation to the other carriers but yields a readable constellation diagram :)

I now picking up pan-euro spot on two transponders{11108 V and 11185 V}with 1.1m dish on Astra 1N.Both have 13.6 dB!
Maybe can help you to make comparison between the two spots on both satellites-Astra 1N & 2F:
