Must be right down in the noise here. All I can see at the minute is a big analog spike on 12325 and a smaller one on 12025. Plus a few more narrow band signals that jump out of the noise and are active for less than 0.5 sec at a time.

Sorry guys, but just for those of us not as clued in on this testing business please can someone explain what phase of testing we are now in and what the subsequent phases should be before 2F will be deemed ready to be moved to 28.2E?

Thanks.

I guess SES is testing the operability and power output of various transponders...

Btw, it is interesting how different DVB cards interpret differently those test signals. This one is with my TT S2-1600 (the one in the previous message was with the TBS6925).

so can any of you tell something from these test signals? do they indicate something regarding the future reception of the uk beam in fringe areas?

No - the power levels will be played with during the test phase, then backed off as far as possible whilst still illuminating the desired target area once the bird goes into service..

It's just an interesting aspect of the Hobby ............. following the process from Commissioning, through Manufacture to Launch, Testing and Operation.

The only time to get worried (or elated!) is when it's put into service and we find out who the winners and losers really are.

There's too many peaks now, I'm losing track!
When there are peaks outside 11700...12500 MHz it will be interesting again.
This testing phase might be the only time to find out what frequencies & beams Astra 2F is capable of.

Amazingly, qwer just posted some Astra 2F frequencies in the ranges currently in use by Eutelsat: 12633H, 11464H and 11538V...
Meaning Astra 2F can probably handle all Ku-band frequencies!

So where do you think 11538V comes from then? Don't see Turksat or Intelsat 12 transponders centered there.

It's about 2F isn't it.. There are many small hills in the envelope. When you think that one of them is coming from the wanted direction, just move a couple of ticks away from that position. If the RF level increases, the spurious frequency can't possible come from this position.

I think it's comes from Intelsat 702.We now sees how good is adjusted antenna on each position.

I-702 is 1.1 degree inclined - the power should change slightly over 24 hours if it is.
