This means the whole 12.5...12.75 GHz band will be cleared!
So this band might become used for something different, like feeds, data?
Wouldn't mind if stays empty though, might improve reception in that band a bit on 26.0°E or 30.5°E!
Yes, it'll be interesting to see what happens to this band now. I struggled to get 24 hour lock on the 12.5-12.75 band with a 1.8m in Helsinki so I won't be too upset if it stays empty either... now that they have all gone to 2G Europe they are booming in. 13-14dB on my 85cm and 16-18dB on the 1.8m.

IIRC when Eutelsat had stewardship of the 12.5-12.75GHz band, as well as some broadcasts they also had some occasional OB feeds there as well as some continuous feeds (one of them was for a DAB network in Germany IIRC).

I can't see SES just leaving that band fallow after going through the courts to claim ownership. Eutelsat would be a bit miffed as well, as if they had that 250MHz to hand as well as 11.2 to 11.45GHz (forgetting 11.45 to 11.7GHz) then with 500MHz they might well have decided to put one of their own craft in to be a replacement to 28A rather than reach a deal with SES.

Two data transponders are now up and running on 12.522V and 12.552V. The SR is 22.5 but my DrHD F15 won't tell me any more. Anyone with a sat card able to see what the full tuning details are?

From the signal levels in Helsinki these could be either on 2F and 2E Europe. They are about 1.5dB stronger than when those transponders where used by Sky but they are certainly not from 2C or 2G.

I guess this means this top band won't be used exclusively for UK spots and perhaps it will be used more for data and feeds?

Could this mean the data transponders on 2C will be switching off soon and 2C will be moved elsewhere?

Continuous stream, so the video & audio it contains not visible or audible.

Yes indeed they do, continuous stream and same symbolrate, but being ACM/VCM, other parameters changing all the time of course.

Sounds like 2C could be switching off then...

I only know of the four mentioned above at the moment in the Ku band.

Maybe after 11009v data signal move, SES puts high power 2g europe signals into 10979v, 11009v, 11038v, just to complicate fringe reception.

As "high power" as 2G Europe footprint field strength gets here, certainly in the UK where it's a bit of a damp squid compared to 2E and 2F.

why would they move those data carriers to new freqs then ? 2C and 2G are quite similar in strength here, so it doesnt really matter if they broadcast those two data services or tv channels via 2G when it comes to making things more complicated.

The only explanation I can come up with now is, that TV broadcasters prefer the lower frequencies, as they are more stable in rain etc. The new data TPs are probably on 2F Europe - so far I havent seen anything on 2E above 12.5 GHz.

That transponder was so strong in Finland it's probably just bits of old signal still bouncing around inside the LNB. ;)

Woohoo! At long last. I checked this morning and it wasn't there so it must be quite recent.

2G has moved quite a bit, about a week ago I had 2dB difference between BBC1 London and ITV HD, HD being 9.2
Today BBC1 London 11.5dB ITV HD 10.4dB on the 1.8 which I have not moved for a few weeks. ( roughly same time of day )
